๐ŸŽ™ President of Russia Vladimir Putin sent a video address to the participants of the International Security Forum taking place in Moscow.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Over the course of several days, 25 thematic sessions will be held โ€“ conferences, round tables, briefings and presentations โ€“ during which you will have the opportunity to comprehensively discuss key issues of regional and global security.

Today, as the world faces serious challenges, such representative world-level meetings and direct professional dialogue are particularly relevant.

As before, international terrorism, the risks of uncontrolled proliferation of nuclear weapons, extremism, drug trafficking and cybercrime pose a serious threat to all states without exception.

The modern world is interdependent and interconnected, which is why escalating tensions in individual regions have an adverse impact on the entire international community.

โ—๏ธ I want to stress that we support close cooperation in ensuring comprehensive stability on the regional and global scale, and advocate for indivisible security.

We believe that timely work on such significant and strategic issues is especially relevant right now, as the #MultipolarWorld is taking shape. Russia is actively involved in this process, including as a member of integration associations that operate on the principles of equality and respect for sovereignty, national interests, historical, cultural and civilisational identities of countries and peoples.

This Forumโ€™s objective is to tackle security problems and assist with expanding pragmatic cooperation between countries for the protection from internal and external threats.

I am certain that the ideas and proposals put forward during the Forum will help strengthen security partnerships between our countries and contribute to achieving a strong balance of power in the world. Of course, they will also help strengthen friendships and trust between our nations.

๐Ÿค I wish you productive work and all the best.
๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ On May 28, the 2nd Russia-India Education Summit organized by the Rossotrudnichestvo with the support of the Russian Embassy in India commenced in New Delhi.

โ˜๐Ÿป In his remarks at the inauguration, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov emphasized the strong prospects for Russian education in India, the growing demand for broader scientific and academic exchanges, as well as the need for strengthening educational cooperation by increasing the number of Indian students at Russian universities and expanding Russian language study centers in India.

Welcoming addresses were also delivered by Deputy Minister of Health of Russia Dr Tatiana Semenova, Deputy Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Dr Pavel Shevtsov, Chairman of the National Medical Commission of India Dr Abhijat Chandrakant Sheth, President of the Association of Indian Universities Prof Vinay Kumar Pathak, and other officials.

The forum brings together representatives of more than 50 leading higher education institutions, as well as members of public, political, expert, and academic circles from both countries. The program, which runs until May 29, includes thematic panel sessions and roundtable discussions.

๐Ÿ“† May 29 is the Eurasian Economic Union Day.

Since its establishment in 2014, the EAEU has proven to be a successful project of regional integration based on equality and mutual accommodation of the economic interests of the Union members. The EAEU has become an independent and self-sufficient centre of an emerging multipolar world.

The member states of the Union โ€” the #EAEU "Five" โ€” Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia โ€” have achieved significant progress in functioning and improving of the common market. Mutual trade is demonstrating sustainable growth, cooperation is becoming closer in such areas as transportation, logistics, industry, agriculture, energy and food security.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Over the decade, the combined GDP of the EAEU member states has increased from 1.6 to 2.5 trillion USD. Trade with third parties has grown by 60%.

The Eurasian Economic Union has firmly established itself as a major actor in global economic affairs with an extensive network of partnerships. Today, free trade agreements of the EAEU with Vietnam, Iran, and Serbia are already in force, two non-preferential agreements have been signed with China. The EAEU maintains close cooperation with the Union's observer states, such as Uzbekistan and Cuba.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ In November 2025, New Delhi hosted the first round of negotiations on the FTA agreement between the EAEU and India.

๐Ÿ—“ Astana to host a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Councill today. It will be attended by President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

The event is taking place on May 29 โ€“ the Eurasian Economic Union Day โ€“ established in 2022 to mark signing the Treaty on the EAEU in 2014.

Ahead of the meeting, the Heads of Delegations of the #EAEU member states took part in a welcome ceremony and a joint photo op.

๐ŸŽ™ Statement by President of Russia Vladimir Putin at the expanded meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (Astana, May 29, 2026)

๐Ÿ’ฌ It is indeed symbolic that exactly 12 years ago, On May 29, 2014, the founding Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union was signed here in Astana.

The consistent and painstaking joint work carried out by our states to implement this document has made it possible to create a truly effective integration association. The assessments voiced by our colleagues โ€“ both positive and critical โ€“ clearly show that the Eurasian Economic Union is functioning successfully overall and continues to develop further.

I would like to particularly emphasise that, given the specifics of the current situation, close Eurasian integration brings real benefits to each member state of our Association. It helps increase business revenues and improve the quality of life and well-being of our countriesโ€™ citizens.

๐Ÿ“ˆ The key macroeconomic indicators of our โ€œfiveโ€ show a stable positive dynamic, and this speaks for itself. Total industrial production in the Eurasian Union increased by 1.6%, agricultural production by 4.6%, and construction by 4.2%. Growth is also being recorded in most sectors of the economy.

Trade flows between the states of our association reached $95 billion in 2025. The structure of trade is improving thanks to expanded supplies of high-tech products and a simultaneous decrease in the share of raw materials.

Trade barriers are being consistently eliminated within the EAEU, and non-tariff regulation rules are being unified.

Practically all settlements between our countries are carried out in national currencies. This means that mutual export-import operations are reliably protected from external influence and negative trends on global markets.

Measures are being taken to further harmonise the customs legislation of the member states.

***

We have all repeatedly emphasised that the Eurasian Economic Union and our integration activity attract considerable attention abroad.

Many foreign states and major regional structures โ€“ such as the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations โ€“ are showing interest in developing ties with the โ€œfiveโ€.

For its part, the EAEU remains invariably open to mutually beneficial and equal cooperation with constructively minded countries and associations.

The circle of the โ€œfiveโ€™sโ€ preferential partners is steadily expanding year by year. In 2025, trade agreements were concluded with Mongolia, the United Arab Emirates and Indonesia. Negotiations on trade liberalisation with India have also intensified.

โ˜๏ธ I would like to stress that deepening allied ties with all EAEU states is an unconditional priority for Russia. We intend to continue fully supporting the development of integration processes across the entire Eurasian space.
