🚀 “Rocket of Dreams”: Launch of Soyuz MS-28

Tomorrow, on November 27 at 12:27 MSK (GMT/UTC: 09:27), the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle is scheduled to lift off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, sending into orbit the crew of the Soyuz MS-28 spacecraft: commander Sergey Kud-Sverchkov (🇷🇺), and flight engineers Sergey Mikaev (🇷🇺) and Christopher Williams (🇺🇸).

For the first time in history, this rocket has been decorated with drawings created by children undergoing cancer treatment.

Children from 50 cities across Russia and 14 countries shared their personal “dreams” in the form of art and murals on the surface of the carrier rocket. 130 children will attend the launch in person to send their own “childhood dreams” into space.

📆 Irina Yanina was born on 27 November 1966, 59 years ago.

She was a nurse and a servicewoman in the Internal Troops of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, whose professionalism, personal courage and dedication to duty became a model of service to Russia.

Since her early years she was disciplined, had a responsible attitude to what she was doing and a desire to bring real good to people — the qualities that determined her life and service.

Upon enrolling in military service, Irina demonstrated a deep commitment to her chosen career. Working under the conditions of counter-terrorism operations in the North Caucasus required from medical workers some special endurance, the skill to act decisively and promptly, and sometimes personal courage.

❗️ On August 31, 1999, during a mopping-up operation in the Daghestani village of Karamakhi Irina Yanina was a member of the evacuation team and treated the wounded servicemen. Risking her own life, she cared for 15 wounded persons. She went three times to the firing line in an APC and evacuated 28 wounded soldiers more.

During her fourth sally the enemy counterattacked. On arranging the embarkation of the wounded, she covered it by assault rifle fire. Departing, the APC was hit by two grenades and caught big fire. Irina helped the wounded to leave the burning APC but had no time to save herself.

🎖 For her courage and heroism, Irina Yanina was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation, being the first woman in the modern history of our country to receive this high state award for her actions in combat. She also remains the only woman to have received this award for participating in a counter-terrorism operation in the North Caucasus.

▪️ The heroic deed by Irina Yanina holds a special place among the examples of genuine patriotism, selfless service and readiness to fulfill one’s duty in any circumstances.

Comment by the Russian Permanent Mission to the EU
regarding the adoption of the resolution on combating glorification of Nazism by the Third Committee of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, 26 November 2025

On 14 November in New York, the Third Committee of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly adopted, at the initiative of the Russian Federation, the resolution entitled “Combating glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fuelling contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance”.

The fact that 44 states from various regions of the world joined as co-authors of the resolution clearly demonstrates the international community’s understanding of the utmost importance of the issues raised.

It is symbolic that this crucial document is being adopted in the year when the entire world has been marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory over Nazism and fascism – a landmark date serving as a reminder of the tragic lessons of history that need to be learned once and for all.

It is particularly telling that while the practices, which were condemned in the resolution, regrettably persist as systemic in the EU Member States – ranging from the demolition of monuments to the Soviet warriors-liberators to marches honouring "Waffen-SS" legionnaires, the EU Member States once again opposed the adoption of this document. Their position is a direct evidence of "double standards" and only underscores the relevance and timeliness of our initiative.

We are confident that the adoption of this thematic resolution will make a significant contribution to the cause of eradicating racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance worldwide, as well as to the preservation of the historical truth and countering the revision of the outcomes of the Second World War.

🎙 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s answer to a question from the 'Moscow. Kremlin. Putin television programme' (Moscow, November 30, 2025)

Europe has been acting so outrageously, demanding some sort of role in the talks. Can they even demand anything?

💬 Sergey Lavrov: It wasn’t really discussed.

We proceed from the premise (as also stated by representatives of the Presidential Executive Office, including Yury Ushakov) — which I believe is obvious to everybody — that Europe has already removed itself from the talks.

Europe spoiled the initial deal of February 2014, when it acted as guarantor for the formal agreement between Viktor Yanukovych and the opposition. It did nothing when the opposition seized all government agencies the morning after the agreement was signed.

Similarly, Europe undermined the Minsk agreements when the signatories, then Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and the then President of France Francois Hollande, subsequently admitted that nobody had intended to fulfil the agreements.

The most recent case occurred in April 2022 when, at the demand of then UK prime minister Boris Johnson and with Europe’s full acquiescence, if not connivance, the Istanbul agreements were derailed.

👉 Europe has used up its chances.
