🎙 Excerpts from the statement by representative of the Russian Federation Mr.Sergey Leonidchenko at UNSC Arria-formula meeting on Ukraine

💬 We have already heard usual myriad of fakes, now let’s look at the facts.

👉 Fact one: UNESCO confirmed that none of the World Heritage sites in Ukraine was damaged during the Russian special military operation. The coordinates of such sites were provided to our Armed Forces in advance and they are taking necessary precautions while planning operations against military targets.

👉 Fact two: With regard to other sites it is the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense that refuses to provide to UNESCO written guarantees that such cultural property or its immediate surroundings will not be used in support of military effort. In general using civilian facilities, including schools and kindergartens, for military effort and non-combatants as “human shields” is a standard tactics for Ukrainian military and nationalists.

👉 Fact three: UNESCO Secretariat gets from us regular detailed reports about attacks by Ukrainian military on cultural historic and religious sites. Now they ruin civilian and cultural infrastructure with the help of weapons delivered by Western states.

👉 Fact four: None of information provided with regard to these heinous acts by Ukrainian authorities finds its way into reports of the UNESCO Secretariat. It prefers to continue giving one-sided false narratives based on information submitted only by Ukraine.

👉 Fact five: Information coming from Kiev is not verified on the ground by the UNESCO Secretariat. The only hasty country visit was carried out just days before our today’s meeting to provide a proper media background.

👉 Fact six: Verification is key since Ukraine produces fakes 24/7 and is not hesitant to use cultural sites for that purpose.

⚠️It has been confirmed that in Slaviansk, Donetsk People's Republic, units of Ukrainian armed groups launch attacks at residential areas for promoting anti-Russian opinion with support of the military-civilian administration.

💬 Kiev-led armed units and neo-Nazis continue staging terrorist attacks on the liberated territories of the LPR and the DPR and the Kherson Region.

On July 13, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) dealt a massive blow to Lugansk with 9 rockets fired from US HIMARS MRL.

On the night of July 12, they shelled Novaya Kakhovka in the Kherson Region. 7 people were killed and 100+ wounded.

On July 11, Ukrainian militants attacked the DPR’s Amvrosievka regional centre. Again, there were victims: 3 killed, 39 injured.

The fire is selective; it is aimed at residential areas and socially important facilities. AFU are using US-supplied HIMARS in most cases. They are acting with direct assistance from the US, which supplies Kiev with intelligence information and has tacitly sent instructors to help Kiev’s fighters to “aim correctly.” It is confirmed in numerous reports on Ukrainian social media and the Western press.

🇷🇺 Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu inspects Southern and Central groups of troops (forces) involved in special military operation in Ukraine. At the command post, Sergei Shoigu was informed by the commander of Southern group of troops General of the Army Sergei Surovikin, the commander of Central group of troops Colonel General Aleksandr Lapin and other commanders about the current situation, the action of the enemy and the progress of combat tasks fulfillment by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Over the past 48 hours, this brigade has lost over 600 servicemen. 💬 Western countries continue to circulate statements about the need to collect some kind of reparations from Russia and expropriate – in other words, misappropriate – Russian public and private assets abroad. Sometimes they add “for rebuilding Ukraine.”

👉 In this context, the Russian Foreign Ministry has prepared visual information materials on the consequences of the military adventures of the United States and its European allies over the past couple of decades. The article is posted on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry under the corresponding banner. It clearly, with reference to authoritative sources, provides data on material damage to the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya, and Syria, inflicted by the United States (and its satellites).

We do not claim to present a complete calculation of the losses incurred, but even a conservative estimate puts it trillions of dollars.

❌ Myth: The Russian operation in Ukraine has led to a significant drop in food, animal feed and fertiliser availability, price increases for food, energy and fertilisers, and has aggravated global food insecurity.

✅ Fact: Russia is not at fault for the current food security crisis. A sharp increase in prices on the commodities and raw materials markets began as early as 2020, causing concern in the EU even then, – long before current events. The reason lies in the EU’s own errors in of its macroeconomic, energy, climate and food policies in recent years.

In trying to rebuild the world system of economic relations to its own advantage and impose its own rules, the EU fell into a trap created by its own ambitions. Under the circumstances, the West used Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine and Donbas as an excuse to conceal its own mistakes from the world public and its own citizens. In reality, a bad situation was made worse by the reckless anti-Russia sanctions.
