🗓 The Convention on Diplomatic Relations was adopted on this day 6️⃣1️⃣ years ago, in Vienna. It is one of the main international treaties offering a legal framework for diplomatic relations.

🌐 All UN member states, except Palau and South Sudan, signed and ratified the Convention.

📜 The Convention contains rules related to the appointment and seniority of heads of missions and members of diplomatic staff, declaring a member of a diplomatic mission persona non grata, ensuring the security of embassies and consulates, etc. A considerable part of the Convention is devoted to diplomatic privileges and immunities.
