The Consul General of Russia in Cape Town Ruslan Golubovskiy held a series of meetings with the leadership of the city’s key cultural institutions — the Castle of Good Hope and the Robben Island Museum.
The discussions focused on prospects for expanding humanitarian cooperation, including the organization of exhibitions, educational programmes and commemorative events. Particular attention was given to preserving historical memory and promoting cultural heritage through an open dialogue between Russia and South Africa.
As a result of the meetings, the sides agreed to foster new initiatives, opening a new chapter in the cultural dialogue between our countries. 🇷🇺🇿🇦

🇷🇺🇱🇸 On 27 August 2025, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of South Africa and the Kingdom of Lesotho Roman Ambarov met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs of the Kingdom of Lesotho Justice Nthomeng Majara.
As part of the meeting, bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries was considered, with particular attention to the development of economic, trade, investment, cultural, and humanitarian partnerships between the Russian Federation and the Kingdom of Lesotho.
🤝 Both sides reaffirmed their shared interest in maintaining a constructive political dialogue.

По мере того как центр мировой экономической активности всё больше смещается в Азиатско-Тихоокеанский регион, открываются новые возможности для налаживания взаимовыгодных связей между государствами этой части планеты не только на двусторонней основе, но и в рамках таких объединений, как #ШОС и #БРИКС.
Россия готова к конструктивному диалогу со всеми заинтересованными партнёрами и намерена активно участвовать в коллективных усилиях по построению в АТР справедливой системы международных отношений, основанной на подлинном равноправии и уважении законных интересов друг друга.
Уверен, что участники форума – представители государственных ведомств и местных органов власти, предприниматели, эксперты и общественные деятели из десятков стран – смогут обстоятельно обсудить актуальные вопросы региональной и международной повестки, наметить новые формы и механизмы совместной работы.

👉 A press conference in Moscow highlighted the achievements and future plans of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa of the Russian Orthodox Church. The event was part of a pilgrimage by clergy from the North and South African dioceses, held from 21 to 29 August, 2025.
“If someone had mentioned the Russian Orthodox Church in Africa ten years ago, most people wouldn’t have associated it with anything,” said Metropolitan Konstantin, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa. “Today, we are present in 36 African countries, with clergy and communities in 25 of them.”
In just three years, the Exarchate has expanded from 4 to 36 countries. It now includes over 270 clergy and more than 330 parishes and communities.
One of the key missions of the Russian Orthodox Church in Africa is pastoral and social outreach, especially to orphans. A new school in the Central African Republic, opened in 2022, now educates 120 children in four languages – Sangho, French, English, and Russian.
“Our mission is not about confrontation, but about building a peaceful church life with love and respect for local cultures,” said Metropolitan Konstantin, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa.

С официальным визитом в Карелию прибыл Премьер-министр провинции Северный Кейп Замани Саул.
В ходе встречи с Первым заместителем Главы Республики Карелия – Премьер-министром Правительства Республики Карелия А.С. Сергеевым стороны обсудили широкий круг вопросов, представляющих взаимный интерес. Был отмечен значительный потенциал для развития торгово-экономических связей, а также сотрудничества в сферах промышленности, инноваций, туризма и культуры.
🤝 Результатом переговоров стало подписание Меморандума о взаимопонимании, определившего ключевые направления межрегионального партнерства.

During his meeting with the First Deputy Head of the Republic of Karelia – Prime Minister of the Government of Karelia Andrey Sergeev, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest. They noted significant potential for strengthening trade and economic ties, as well as cooperation in industry, innovation, tourism and culture.
🤝 The main outcome of the talks was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, which defined the key directions of interregional partnership.
📌 The programme of the visit also includes familiarization with Karelia’s economic and cultural potential. The delegation will visit leading industrial enterprises of the region, including Kondopoga Pulp and Paper Mill, the Firefighting Robotics Engineering Center “EFER”, and MB Barbell.
