🗓 On June 4, under the chairmanship of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, a meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation was held. The topic — “Furthering Russia’s cooperation with Africa.”
The session underscored the priority status of comprehensive relations with the African continent, as well as Russia’s commitment to fostering Africa’s emergence as a distinctive and influential centre of global development, in line with the Concept of the Foreign Policy of the Russian Federation approved by the President in 2023.
🇷🇺🌍 The Collegium noted the high momentum in #RussiaAfrica relations. A strong impetus to this process was provided by the establishment of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum in 2019 and the successful organisation, within this framework, of two summits and the first ministerial conference. Active efforts are underway to expand Russia’s diplomatic presence in the region. In January of this year, a new department – the Department for Partnership with Africa – was formed within the Russian Foreign Ministry to oversee engagement at both pan-African and subregional levels.
The meeting reaffirmed the Russian Federation’s dedication to assisting the African nations in strengthening their sovereignty and countering the neocolonial policies of the collective West, which seeks to maintain dominance over the continent to serve its narrowly self-serving resource, economic, and geopolitical interests.
The session outlined concrete steps to further enhance Russia’s political, economic, cultural, and other ties with African nations and their integration blocs. Emphasis was placed on Russia’s readiness to continue supporting African partners in overcoming security challenges, guided by the African solutions to African Problems principle.
🤝 Special attention was given to preparations for the second ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, scheduled to take place this year in an African state, which will serve as a key milestone ahead of the third Russia-Africa Summit in 2026.

As of the end of 2023, exports of goods and services made up just 21.9% of GDP — the lowest level since 1994. At the same time, total exports grew by 2.2%, reaching USD 476.1 billion, including USD 433.9 billion in goods and USD 42.2 billion in services.
📊 By comparison, in 1999–2000, exports accounted for over 40% of GDP. The current decline reflects a significant rise in domestic demand and the strengthening of the national economy. In 2023, Russia’s GDP expanded by 4.3% in real terms, amounting to ₽ 201.2 trillion (approx. USD 2.2 trillion).
🇷🇺 These figures highlight Russia’s continued move toward economic self-sufficiency and a strategic focus on domestic development, with external factors playing a steadily diminishing role in shaping the country’s economic outlook.

Russian is one of the most popular languages in the world.
It has a rich literary heritage and is one of the most dynamic languages. Today, Russian is spoken by over 250 million citizens of Russia and other countries.

My heartfelt wishes go to you on the occasion of Russian Language Day, which takes place annually on the birthday of great Russian poet and writer Alexander Pushkin.
🇷🇺 The importance of the Russian language as a pillar underlying the Russian civilisation and the whole Russian world can hardly be overestimated. Our “great and mighty” (as it is called) language is among the world’s top five most widely spoken languages.
It is widely used as an official or working language on international platforms. Its role in the development of scientific, cultural and educational exchanges and people-to-people contacts is enormous. Russian Language Day features on the UN calendar of significant dates as part of the programme for promoting multilingualism and cultural diversity.
Spreading the language of Leo Tolstoy and Ivan Turgenev, and Russian culture across the former Soviet Union objectively contributes to the formation of a space of peace, security, economic and humanitarian cooperation in Eurasia. I would like to note the great strides in the joint efforts with our partners to complete the procedures related to the establishment of the International Organisation for the Russian Language that was initiated by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Importantly, all countries without exception, where the Russian language is known and loved, and where the people are willing to study it, are welcome to join it. I look forward to the Organisation becoming operational soon.

The “Russian great word” could be seen in denunciatory texts, including at the Nuremberg Tribunal, documenting the atrocities of Nazi war criminals. It strengthened the fighting spirit, brought consolation, and asserted the inevitable victory of good over evil. <...>
❗️ Respect for the Russian language, the great culture created on its basis, and the people who speak it are very important for us. We cannot tolerate discrimination, not to mention the open terror against everything Russian that was unleashed by the Kiev regime. The Ukrainian followers of Bandera and Shukhevich are systematically and legislatively exterminating everything that is in any way connected with Russia. The Kiev regime finds the Russian language particularly hateful. It was banned, including by law, from use. Russia will not leave Russians and Russian-speaking people in trouble and will make sure that their legal rights, including the right to speak their native language, are restored in full. We will continue to speak about this pressing problem on international platforms. We will insist on having it resolved as a prerequisite for a lasting peaceful settlement of the Ukraine conflict.
Further strengthening of the position of the Russian language in the world remains among the unconditional priorities of our humanitarian foreign policy. We will continue to do our utmost to meet the needs of our foreign partners in studying and using the Russian language, in obtaining general interest and scientific information in Russian, and in expanding knowledge about Russia.
On a final note, I would like to extend my heartfelt wishes to all those who love the language spoken by Pushkin and who contribute to its preservation and dissemination around the world. Special words of gratitude go to our compatriots who maintain an unbreakable spiritual and linguistic bond with their historical Homeland, and who do much to preserve the rich cultural, historical and spiritual heritage of the Russian world.

The International Public Tribunal on the Crimes of Ukrainian Neo-Nazis (includes representatives of civil society from more than 30 countries), chaired by Maxim Grigoriev, continues recording reports of war crimes committed by the Kiev regime towards prisoners of war (POWs).
📓 On May 30, the Tribunal published a report titled "Ukraine's War Crimes: Torture and Abuse of Captive Russian Servicemen".
Nearly all Russian servicemen suffered repeated brutal beatings while held in combat units, Security Service of Ukraine facilities, detention centres, and Ukrainian concentration camps, as well as during transfers through numerous checkpoints. Many victims report that inciting dogs on people was another common torture method.
Particularly brutal torture was inflicted by Ukrainians on Buryats, Yakuts, Crimean residents, DPR/LPR fighters, former Wagner fighters, and current Akhmat fighters.
Russian servicemen describe cases of sophisticated abuse and widespread sadistic practices carried out by members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
❗️ Interviewees widely testify to sadistic behavior by Ukrainian doctors, including surgeries and procedures performed without anesthesia on Russian POWs — similar to Nazi doctor Mengele's experiments at Auschwitz.
▪️ Azat Rakhimov: At first, the Ukrainians would hold my head underwater, cover my face, and drown me — a form of water torture where you can’t breathe. When I lost consciousness, they’d stop, then start again. On May 23, they were celebrating a holiday and grilling barbecue. When they ran out of meat, they said, “Let’s roast him.” They proceeded to heat a metal pipe and press it against my back and legs, leaving severe burns. After the flesh blistered, they peeled off the burnt skin and poured salt directly into the open wounds. The burning sensation was constant — the heat, the pain, and the salt eating into me.
▪️ Vladimir Palitsyn: I lost my teeth during the first interrogation. The Ukrainians knocked out my teeth. They strapped me to an electric chair. The electrodes were attached to my genitals and chest. The electric current was applied in three modes. It was called 'dancing' — switching between low and high current. I thought my eyes would pop out.
▪️ Ivan Myakishev: When I was in the 'Zapad-4' concentration camp, one prisoner asked for burn ointment but was denied. The Ukrainian guards tortured him with a heated metal pipe, they rolled it all over his body. They heated it over a fire and pressed it against his skin.

⚡️ Russia's Foreign Ministry Statement in connection with Israel’s strikes on Iran

💬 We express our profound concern regarding the dangerous escalation of tensions in the Middle East.
❗️ We strongly condemn the military actions undertaken by the State of Israel on the night of June 13, which constitute a clear violation of the UN Charter as well as established principles of international law.
Unprovoked military strikes against a sovereign member state of the United Nations, against its citizens, peaceful cities, and critical nuclear energy infrastructure facilities, are totally unacceptable. The international community must not ignore such acts, which not only jeopardise peace but also undermine security both in the region and globally.
The timing of these attacks appears to be particularly cynical as they have occurred amidst a session of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and just ahead of the next round of indirect talks between representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States. These actions have drastically undermined the progress of painstaking multilateral diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and seeking solutions to eliminate suspicions and the bias surrounding Iran’s peaceful nuclear programme.
It is evident that West Jerusalem has made a deliberate decision to further escalate the situation and raise stakes. We have warned on numerous occasions about the destabilising effects of military ventures that threaten peace and security in the region. The full responsibility for the consequences of these provocative acts lies with the Israeli leadership.
We are closely monitoring the actions by the IAEA, which carries significant responsibility in this challenging situation. IAEA personnel, alongside citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran, have also been exposed to Israeli strikes. We expect the IAEA Director General to provide balanced and objective assessments of the current developments – in particular, a comprehensive analysis of the potential radiological consequences of the attacks on nuclear facilities in Iran.
We also hope that the Western countries, which provoked the recent wave of anti-Iran hysteria at the IAEA Board of Governors, once again pushing through a short-term resolution tailored to suit their political preferences and entrenched phobias, despite its lack of broad international support, will come to realise the dangerous consequences of their destructive approach as well as the degree of responsibility they bear for the unfolding tragedy.
☝️ We strongly believe that, regardless of any justifications that may be offered by those who planned, developed, and carried out the attacks, the issue of the Iranian nuclear programme cannot and must not be resolved by military means. A sustainable settlement is only possible through peaceful, political, and diplomatic efforts.
We sincerely hope that this understanding will ultimately prevail. We call on the parties to exercise restraint to avoid further escalation and prevent a full-scale war in the region.
In this context, we note that the US is ready to hold another round of talks with Iran on the latter’s nuclear programme in Oman.

It is evident that West Jerusalem has made a deliberate decision to further escalate the situation and raise stakes. We have warned on numerous occasions about the destabilising effects of military ventures that threaten peace and security in the region. The full responsibility for the consequences of these provocative acts lies with the Israeli leadership.
We are closely monitoring the actions by the IAEA, which carries significant responsibility in this challenging situation. IAEA personnel, alongside citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran, have also been exposed to Israeli strikes. We expect the IAEA Director General to provide balanced and objective assessments of the current developments – in particular, a comprehensive analysis of the potential radiological consequences of the attacks on nuclear facilities in Iran.
We also hope that the Western countries, which provoked the recent wave of anti-Iran hysteria at the IAEA Board of Governors, once again pushing through a short-term resolution tailored to suit their political preferences and entrenched phobias, despite its lack of broad international support, will come to realise the dangerous consequences of their destructive approach as well as the degree of responsibility they bear for the unfolding tragedy.
☝️ We strongly believe that, regardless of any justifications that may be offered by those who planned, developed, and carried out the attacks, the issue of the Iranian nuclear programme cannot and must not be resolved by military means. A sustainable settlement is only possible through peaceful, political, and diplomatic efforts.
We sincerely hope that this understanding will ultimately prevail. We call on the parties to exercise restraint to avoid further escalation and prevent a full-scale war in the region.
In this context, we note that the US is ready to hold another round of talks with Iran on the latter’s nuclear programme in Oman.

Он высоко оценил вклад России в деятельность БРИКС, выразив уверенность в дальнейшем углублении стратегического партнёрства в интересах всего Глобального Юга.
