Parkinsons Disease is one of the least known (Especially in Ethiopia) diseases that has no cure so far. The patients usually have difficulties moving and require assistance to undertake their daily functions.
Parkinson's disease although affecting the patient directly, will also affect their family because the cost of medicines and treatment put financial strains on the family and another person has to stay to care for the patient decreasing an additional person from the family's workforce.

At this walk we aren't asking for money. We are asking for your voice, because the patients have difficulty voicing their needs to the general public and the authorities to be able to get cheap (if not free) medication.
We are asking for your energy and mobility because the patients can't walk much to be able to get what they want.
And that's all we ask for.

It is a sad reality that most unfortunate school girls living in Ethiopia miss school for at least four days each month over menstruation. These issues are not talked about in our society, due to embarrassment, lack of understanding and the low priority of such problems in the face of starvation, violence, death, illiteracy and the many struggles of daily life.

Rotaract club of Abugida has an annual project aiming to help provide reusable sanitary pads and different trainings to school girls. The first round reusable sanitary pad donation will take place at Repi Primary School.
