Statement Regarding Violations of the Ceasefire Agreement in the Jazira and Kobani Regions – 26 January
Despite the ceasefire agreement entering into force last night, Damascus factions continue to commit serious and repeated violations against populated areas in the Jazira and Kobani regions, in a clear and explicit breach of the agreement’s provisions and a direct threat to civilian security and regional stability.
At 10:00 a.m., Damascus factions launched an armored attack on the axis of al-chalabiya town, southeast of Kobani, which was successfully repelled.
From 12:00 p.m. until the time of drafting this statement, attacks have continued on the western countryside axis of Kobani, targeting the villages of Zarik and al-Qasimiyah.
At 6:00 p.m., artillery shelling targeted the village of al-Qasimiyah, resulting in the martyrdom of a child and the injury of three others from the same family.
At 7:30 p.m., Damascus factions carried out an attack using three suicide drones on the village of “Qari,” affiliated with the city of Girkê Legê, causing material damage.
At 10:40 p.m., the same forces targeted the village of al-Safa in the countryside of chil Agha / al-Jawadiyah, resulting in material damage.
As of the time of drafting this statement, these attacks continue on the southern and western axes of Kobani, representing a clear continuation of ceasefire violations and a dangerous escalation that endangers the lives of civilians.
During these attacks, four of our fighters were wounded, in addition to the martyrdom of a child and the injury of three others from the same family.
We call on the guarantor parties to the ceasefire agreement to assume their full responsibilities in putting an end to these violations, to compel Damascus factions to fully adhere to the agreement, and to ensure the protection of civilians without any delay or negligence.

At this moment, our forces are repelling a ground assault launched by Damascus-affiliated factions against the village of Kharab Ashk, southeast of Kobani, coinciding with intense artillery shelling targeting the village.
These attacks constitute a clear violation of the most recent ceasefire agreement.
Our forces continue to exercise their legitimate right to self-defense and are responding to the ongoing attack as of the time of issuing this update, while holding Damascus responsible for breaching the ceasefire agreement.

Am 18. Januar 2026 wurde eine kurdische Familie von den Truppen des syrischen Übergangspräsidenten Ahmad al-Sharaa getötet.
Unter den Opfern befanden sich drei Kinder, eine Mutter, ein Vater, ein Schwiegersohn und ein Cousin.
Die Opfer waren:
Mohammed Ismail Saleh (Vater)
Sarah Shahin Saleh (Mutter)
Youssef Saleh (20 Jahre, Sohn)
Layla Saleh (17 Jahre, Tochter)
Avin Saleh (10 Jahre, Tochter)

Hakan Fidan, the former head of Turkish intelligence and current Turkish Foreign Minister, advised the Syrian regime that if media attention on the Kurds increases, they should quickly stage a mock battle between the Syrian army and another group of Syrian soldiers in civilian clothes, disguised as ISIS fighters.
This fabricated confrontation should take place day and night, and Al Jazeera English should film it to show the world that the "New Syrian Army" is fighting ISIS.
This staged war would last for a day or two to convince Western public opinion that the Syrian regime is a legitimate state.
