Mask Mandates Return at Several New Jersey School Districts

🇺🇸😷Students in several school districts across New Jersey are back from winter break, and back to wearing masks in classrooms.

Beginning Tuesday (Jan. 2), students and staff in Paterson must wear masks indoors, along with students in the Passaic School District, which reinstated the policy before winter vacation. The Camden City School District also announced a mask mandate for two weeks at 18 of its schools.

The masks will remain required until further notice in Paterson.

Sudden Cardiac Death Was an Issue in Athletes Before the COVID-19 Crisis — Is It Bigger Now?

🫀People all over the internet are pointing out that every single sudden death or cardiac issue, especially among athletes, is due to COVID-19 vaccination.

However, sudden cardiac death among athletes was a problem before COVID-19 as shown by this seminal paper published in the the journal Circulation in February 2009. The paper points out that, at the time, sudden cardiac deaths among athletes was becoming a concerning and controversial issue due to the frequency of events that were being recorded.

So the issue is nothing new, as the paper outlines,

“Sudden deaths in young competitive athletes are highly visible events with substantial impact on the physician and lay communities. However, the magnitude of this public health issue has become a source of controversy.“

But have these types of deaths actually increased since 2020? The answer is yes.

Evidence exists to suggest there has been an unprecedented and exponential increase in sudden cardiac deaths among athletes.

Ottawa County’s Newly Named Health Department Officer Would’ve Sent Ivermectin to Every Michigan Household

🇺🇸The potential new leader of Ottawa County’s health department is anti-mask and publicly objected to the social distancing guidelines put in place during the height of the COVID-19 crisis.

Nate Kelly, a Hudsonville, MIchigan resident who currently works at an HVAC service company, is the pick to lead Ottawa County’s health department by the new right wing majority of the county board of commissioners. Once the paperwork is submitted, the state of Michigan will have to decide if he’s worthy for the job.

In the speech at the America’s Frontline Industrial Hygienists & Multidisciplinary Support Summit, Kelly said he would have sent every Michigan household “prophylactic medications and tools” and “Zinc, vitamin D with K2, vitamin C, ivermectin and NAC.” He also would have sent each household a neti-pot.

“No businesses would shutter,” Kelly said at the summit, stating he would direct businesses to install HVAC devices and change out their air filters.

“No masking of any type would be suggested,” Kelly said. “No social distancing would be suggested since it has no basis in any proven science. No mass testing for asymptomatic individuals. Asymptomatic individuals do not transmit disease.”

China Reopens Borders in Final Farewell to Zero-COVID Policy

🇨🇳Travelers began streaming across land and sea crossings from Hong Kong to mainland China on Sunday (Jan. 8), many eager for long-awaited reunions, as Beijing opened borders that have been all but shut since the start of the COVID-19 crisis.

After three years, the mainland is finally opening its border with Hong Kong and ending a requirement for incoming travelers to quarantine, dismantling a final pillar of a zero-COVID policy that had cut Chinese people off from the rest of the world.

China's easing over the past month of one of the world's tightest COVID regimes followed historic protests against a policy that included frequent testing, curbs on movement and mass lockdowns that heavily damaged the second-biggest economy.

“I'm so happy, so happy, so excited. I haven't seen my parents for many years," said Hong Kong resident Teresa Chow as she and dozens of other travelers prepared to cross into mainland China from Hong Kong's Lok Ma Chau checkpoint early on Sunday.

"My parents are not in good health, and I couldn't go back to see them even when they had colon cancer, so I'm really happy to go back and see them now," she said, adding that she plans to head to her hometown in eastern China's Ningbo city.

COVID-19 Hospitalizations, Deaths Could Rise in Coming Weeks, According to the CDC

🇺🇸COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths could see an increase this month, according to the CDC.

The CDC's COVID data tracker recently revealed that hospitalizations have been on the rise since November 2022. In the last week, hospitalization rates have increased by 17% among all age groups with confirmed COVID-19 cases.

This week’s national ensemble predicted that the number of hospital admissions will remain stable or have an uncertain trend.

This could include 2,400 to 13,200 new confirmed admissions likely reported on Jan. 27, 2023. The national ensemble also predicted that the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. could hit 1,113,000 by Jan. 28, 2023.

Fox News medical contributor and NYU Langone professor of medicine Dr. Marc Siegel warned that these numbers are "something to be concerned about."

Ann Arbor Public Schools Implements Mask Mandate Following Winter Break

🇺🇸😷Ann Arbor Public Schools (AAPS) will once again be implementing a district-wide mask mandate following winter break as a preemptive measure to "prevent the spread of illness," according to a letter from the superintendent.

Masks will now be required while indoors at AAPS schools from January 9 - 20 for all students, staff and visitors.

In her January 8 letter to the district, superintendent Jeanice Swift pointed to the recent message by the CDC encouraging masking in response to surges in influenza, RSV and COVID-19.

To funnel his demands, Gottlieb used the same Twitter lobbyist the White House did—fresh evidence of overlap between the company selling mRNA shots and the government forcing them on the public.

🇺🇸On August 27, 2021, Dr. Scott Gottlieb—a Pfizer director with over 550,000 Twitter followers—saw a tweet he didn’t like, a tweet that might hurt sales of Pfizer’s COVID-19 mRNA vaccines.

The tweet explained correctly that natural immunity after COVID-19 infection was superior to mRNA vaccine protection. It called on the White House to “follow the science” and exempt people with natural immunity from upcoming COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

It came Dr. Brett Giroir, a physician who had briefly followed Gottlieb as the head of the FDA. Further, the tweet actually encouraged people who did not have natural immunity to “Get vaccinated!”

No matter.

By suggesting some people might not need COVID-19 vaccinations, the tweet could raise questions about the shots. Besides being former FDA commissioner, a CNBC contributor, and a prominent voice on COVID public policy, Gottlieb was a senior board member at Pfizer, which depended on mRNA jabs for almost half its $81 billion in sales in 2021. Pfizer paid Gottlieb $365,000 for his work that year.

Gottlieb stepped in, emailing Todd O’Boyle, a top lobbyist in Twitter’s Washington office who was also Twitter’s point of contact with the White House.

The post was “corrosive,” Gottlieb wrote. He worried it would “end up going viral and driving news coverage.”

🚨BREAKING: Pentagon Drops COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate for Troops

🇺🇸💉The Pentagon formally dropped its COVID-19 vaccination mandate Tuesday (Jan. 10), but a new memo signed by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin also gives commanders some discretion in how or whether to deploy troops who are not vaccinated.

Austin’s memo has been widely anticipated ever since legislation signed into law on Dec. 23 gave him 30 days to rescind the mandate. The Defense Department had already stopped all related personnel actions, such as discharging troops who refused the shot.

Austin said that commanders have the authority to maintain unit readiness and a healthy force He added, however, that other department policies — including mandates for other vaccines — remain in place.

The contentious political issue, which has divided America, forced more than 8,400 troops out of the military for refusing to obey a lawful order when they declined to get the vaccine. Thousands of others sought religious and medical exemptions. Austin’s memo ends those exemption requests.
