One of the main things I've learnt about UI/UX is that even if you don't understand the technicalities if you consume enough inspiration. Like literally just browsing through dribbble.com and just looking at things eventually you'll start building very good UI.
So just see what kinda theme/vibe you really like. Then spend as much time as possible just looking. Like just look, stare, browse, get the feel of it. Before u know it you're subconsciously imitating good design.
