There is a very stupid bug with mongo server 7.0.6 ( latest ) that still hasn't been fixed. and one that's been bringing our prod server a lot of headache .

here is how you can install 7.0.5 on an ubuntu system and config it to be accessible from the web. basically making your own atlas deployment.

When you are dealing with a bug , get to a thread about it starting from 2017 and the last comment is 2 hours ago
