i was today years old when i realized that if you install a firefox version that is lower than your current version , it will be installed fine , no conflicts , but then it will ask you to either make it replace the one you have or let it be a separate profile.

if you choose to make it a separate profile ... it will be the default ... and the way to change back is thru about:profiles
