Brasilia has deployed a taskforce to remove thousands of cows taken by illegal land-grabbers in the Amazon rainforest.
The cattle drive is being headed by heavily armed police, helicopters and environment rangers, but they've been hindered by criminal gangs setting fire to their routes and destroying bridges.
Operation 'Ox Removal' aims to restore indigenous lands after deforestation blamed on former president Jair Bolsonaro. Current leader Lula da Silva has aimed for zero deforestation by 2030.
It's claimed criminal gangs will lack economic and political clout without the cattle.
