Tens of thousands gathered outside the base in the capital Niamey on Saturday, demanding French troops leave.
It follows the 8th coup in West & Central Africa since 2020. Panic is now setting in for former colonial leaders.
France's influence has waned in the region in recent times, with its troops already forced out in Burkina Faso and Mali.
Outside the base, a goat dressed in French colors had its throat slit and coffins were draped in 🇫🇷 flags.

Global Lithium Shortage by 2025 - WEF Predicts Demand to Multiply 5x by End of Decade
Demand of metal will outstrip supply within two years, according to a Fitch research unit.
Lithium is a key component of EV batteries, and BMI forecasts China - the third largest producer - will have a deficit by 2025. It expects a demand growth of over 20%, but supply up just 6%.
540k metric tons of lithium were produced in 2021. The World Economic Forum (WEF) claims demand will reach over 3mn metric tons by 2030, as it tries to electrify nations.
Klaus Schwab & Co. clearly don't have their own interests at stake.
