The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) wants Qantas to be dealt a record fine for a consumer law breach if its allegations about the airline's canceled advertised tickets proves to be true.
The watchdog has launched Federal Court action claiming the troubled airline engaged in false, misleading or deceptive conduct after continuing to sell thousands of tickets that were already canceled.
It is seeking penalties, injunctions, declarations and costs that would ‘deter’ future offences by companies.

The Alternative for Germany (AfD) party is polling at 35% in the populous eastern state of Saxony, forging ahead of the conservative Christian Democrats (CDU) on 29%.
A total of 9% those surveyed would vote for the hard-left Die Linke (The Left) party, 7% for the centre-left Social Democrats (SPD), 6% for the Greens and 5% for the pro-business Free Democrats (FDP).
The numbers would not be enough for the current governing coalition of the CDU, SPD and Greens in Saxony to continue. Will any of the establishment bow to voter power and form a coalition with AfD?

The response came after New Delhi registered a “strong” diplomatic objection following the release of a map which asserts ownership over territories in the Himalayas to China.
Beijing said that neighboring nations should avoid “over-interpreting” the matter after Taiwan, the Philippines and Malaysia lodged rejections to the new “standard” map.

Soros Heir Confirms His Org is "Not Leaving Europe” 🤬
Alex Soros, who recently took over leadership of the Open Society Foundations (OSF) from his father George – has insisted his org will remain very much engaged in Europe, in an opinion piece for Politico.

He did admit that OSF will engage in new European domains – specifically looking to operate in countries that are working towards EU accession, especially in the Balkans.
A Soros-backed company has recently taken a majority shareholding in the daily Rzeczpospolita, hr confirmed - one of the most influential newspapers in Poland, just weeks before national elections.
The election meddling is neverending…

🇨🇦’s Economy💲 Unexpectedly Shrinks in Q2 – Recession Ahoy?
Canada's economy contracted by 0.2%, data showed Friday - a result that will probably allow the central bank to hold rates amid a possible recession.
The second-quarter reading was far lower than the Bank of Canada's forecast for a 1.5% annualized GDP growth.
The quarterly slowdown was largely due to declines in housing investment and smaller inventory accumulation as well as slower international exports and household spending, Statistics Canada said.
Time’s up for Trudeau?
