Prisoners at a penitentiary in the city Cuenca are holding 50 guards and 7 police officers’ hostage, Interior Minister Juan Zapata confirmed – telling reporters he was
“concerned” for their safety.
Just hours earlier, 🇪🇨’s capital Quito was rocked by attacks with grenades and two car bombs – an apparent show of force by organized crime gangs – which targeted the violence-hobbled country’s SNAI prisons authority.
The attacks came a day after hundreds of soldiers and police officers carried out an operation to search for weapons, ammunition and explosives in one of the country’s main penitentiaries.

BAE created most of the weapons being sent to Kiev from London, with President Zelensky stressing that the development & production of its own weapons was a top priority.

Francis arrived in capital Ulaanbaatar after an overnight flight passing through Chinese airspace, affording the 86-year-old pontiff a rare opportunity to send a note of greetings to President Xi Jinping.
Once part of the empire of Genghis Khan, Mongolia is dependent on Russia for energy imports and China for the export of its raw materials, primarily coal.
So, papal peace is being used as an excuse to keep ruining the Vatican's carbon footprint as Francis ticks off another country on his “legacy” bucketlist – maybe better to compensate victims of Catholic coverups?

The US military has launched a dedicated one-stop shop for information on declassified UFO details.
The website will include video & photos of 'solved cases' concerning unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) - as the 🇺🇸 govt calls them - and will be updated "regularly".
Called the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office, the site -- www.aaro.mil -- has allegedly been created because the Defense Dept. loves transparency.

🇬🇧 Police Fail to Solve a Whopping 90% of Crime
British Home Office data shows that the proportion of recorded crimes remaining unsolved has increased from 74.8% in 2015 to 90.2% in the year to March 2023.
Incredibly, the police fail to identify ANY suspect on average for 6,000 crimes per day, analysis of the official figures shows – some 2.25mn cases were dropped last year after no suspect was proposed by law enforcement, 40% of all cases.
That figure includes more than 30k sex offences, 330k violent crimes, 1.5mn thefts, and almost 320k cases of criminal damage and arson.
But don’t worry, the police social media channels are fully covered for woke causes.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) wants Qantas to be dealt a record fine for a consumer law breach if its allegations about the airline's canceled advertised tickets proves to be true.
The watchdog has launched Federal Court action claiming the troubled airline engaged in false, misleading or deceptive conduct after continuing to sell thousands of tickets that were already canceled.
It is seeking penalties, injunctions, declarations and costs that would ‘deter’ future offences by companies.
