❗️ Niger’s Military Leader Advocates Three-Year Transition to Civilian Rule

General Abdourahmane Tchiani warned that any military intervention in 🇳🇪 ‘will not be a walk in the park’ for those involved after meeting an ECOWAS delegation in Niamey.

He gave no details on the potential transition during an address to the nation Saturday night – revealing only that the principles for the move would be decided within 30 days.

Tchiani also declared that ECOWAS was “getting ready to attack Niger by setting up an occupying army in collaboration with a foreign army” and lambasted what he called “illegal” and “inhuman” sanctions imposed by the regional bloc.
