The show of solidarity was announced on 🇳🇪 state TV after ECOWAS military leaders declared that its armed forces were ready to intervene as soon as orders were given following a meeting in Ghana.
"Mali and Burkina Faso turned their commitments into concrete action by deploying warplanes to respond to any attack on Niger," the state TV report said, noting the planes were Super Tucano fighter jets.
🇧🇫 and 🇲🇱 had previously warned that any intervention would be seen as a declaration of war against themselves.

The US Southwest is bracing for heavy rains and potentially catastrophic flooding with 🌪Hilary expected to pummel the region in the shape of a tropical storm – extremely rare for the region.
Hilary currently remains a Cat 4 hurricane as it marches toward the coast of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula with sustained winds of 130mph - its core is expected to weaken into a tropical storm as it crosses into the US.
The deluges could bring more than a year’s worth of rain to parts of California, Nevada and Arizona – with the most intense conditions on Sunday and Monday.

🇨🇳’s PLA has staged joint air and navy exercises near Taiwan Saturday in response to ‘engagement with foreign forces and provocations’.
It comes a day after 🇹🇼 presidential candidate William Lai returned from his Paraguay trip, during which he stopped over in the 🇺🇸, provoking Beijing’s ire.
Taiwan said Saturday it had detected 42 warplane incursions into its claimed air defense zone around the island.
Eight vessels also participated in the drills, which 🇨🇳 state media said were intended to simulate “real combat conditions”.

Washington will allow the transfer of 🇺🇸-made F-16s from Denmark and the Netherlands when Ukrainian pilots are fully trained to operate them.
The Dutch are thought to have about 24 operational F-16s which are scheduled to be taken out of service and replaced by more advanced war planes.
🇩🇰 is also planning an upgrade of its fleet of some 30 F-16s.
Kiev has been requesting F-16s from its Western backers for months, arguing that they would help to counter Russia’s air superiority.

The Biden admin has announced plans to sell the rocket systems to Canberra as the two countries seek an even closer alliance and to counter China’s expanded military reach in the Indo-Pacific region.
🇦🇺 wants to by 22 of the M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, made by Lockheed Martin Corp, along with 60 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket Systems and other munitions, the US State Dept said.
🇺🇸 Congress must still approve the sale.
