The hacker told a congressional inquiry that ex-President Jair Bolsonaro wanted him to breach the country’s electronic voting system to expose its alleged weaknesses:
Walter Delgatti told lawmakers he met Bolsonaro in August, where he told him to discuss the idea with experts at the defense ministry and offered to pardon him if he suffered legal consequences.
Bolsonaro's lawyers later said that Delgatti presented false information in his testimony, "totally devoid of any kind of proof, including committing, in thesis, the crime of slander."
