The municipal head office in Swellendam, South Africa was torched while several other buildings and shops were looted as rioters went on the rampage.
Protesters had gathered in Swellendam demanding electricity and water in the area but the rally soon turned to unrest.

The Pentagon is evaluating what authorities it can use to continue to operate in Niger if the takeover there is deemed a coup d’etat by the 🇺🇸State Dept – which would legally strip its military of some of its authorities and funding.

Netflix Releases Kid’s Cartoon about Homosexual Knights Deemed “Too Gay” for Disney
The movie – Nimoa – which is aimed at children, features a same-sex couple as well as its magical "gender-fluid" namesake.
The film had been initially acquired by Disney and was almost 75% complete before the animated giant scrapped the project entirely after clashes over including a same-sex kiss in the movie.
Nimona was originally published as a web-comic by ND Stevenson, a queer, transgender writer.
