15,000 UN Troops to 'Accelerate' Exit from DR Congo - Guterres

United Nations peacekeepers in the Democratic Republic of Congo will begin an “accelerated withdrawal,” Secretary General Antonio Guterres has confirmed - marking an end to 25 years in the African nation.

Their mission was extended by a year in December, but has since been met with protests in eastern parts of the country where the UN soldiers operate.
