After nearly wrapping up his legal problems without prison, Hunter Biden now faces the threat of a trial during the heat of his father's reelection campaign.

The surprise appointment of US Attorney David Weiss as a special counsel in the inquiry was quickly followed by the news that Hunter’s plea agreement had reached an impasse.

"The Government now believes that the case will not resolve short of a trial," Weiss wrote in a Friday filing.

🚫 ECOWAS Defers Niger Coup Meeting

Leaders of the Western-backed bloc have postponed a crisis meeting after approving the deployment of a “standby force to restore constitutional order” in Niger as soon as possible.

Chiefs of staff from ECOWAS were scheduled to attend a meeting on Saturday in the Ghanaian capital Accra but later indefinitely suspended it for "technical reasons".

The meeting was reportedly originally set up to inform the org's leaders about "the best options" for activating and deploying the standby force.

🤨 Microplastics Discovered for First Time in Human Heart – Study Finds

The alarming find has been made by a team of scientists from Beijing Anzhen Hospital in China, who analyzed the heart tissue of 15 patients who underwent cardiovascular surgery.

Microplastics - commonly found in food packaging and paints - are less than 5mm wide and can enter the human body through the mouth, nose and other body cavities.

Researchers “detected tens to thousands of individual microplastic pieces in most tissue samples” and nine types of plastic were found in five types of 🫀tissue.

Plastics found in three different parts of the heart included poly(methyl methacrylate), commonly used as a shatter-resistant alternative to glass.

An award-winning Bosnian bodybuilder who livestreamed the murder of his ex-wife in front of their infant child before going on a killing spree has committed suicide.

Nermin Sulejmanovic, 35, filmed at least three videos documenting the violent spree that left three dead and three more wounded in the northeastern Bosnian town of Gradacac.

Sulejmanovic had worked as a fitness coach but was also a gang member with several convictions for acts of violence and involvement in drug trafficking.
