Ivory Coast Starts Mobilizing Troops for ECOWAS Op in 🇳🇪

The 🇨🇮 is ready to provide troops to the regional force for deployment in Niger, President Alassane Ouattara announced after returning from the ECOWAS summit in 🇳🇬.

'The Heads of State agreed to deploy troops from a number of countries, including Ivory Coast. We will provide a battalion and have made all financial arrangements for the operation if it is to last three months,' Ouattara told a press briefing.

Nigeria, Senegal and Benin have also expressed their willingness to participate in the ECOWAS operation.

British Challenger 2 tanks have gone missing in Ukraine. London delivered the tanks to Kiev in early 2023, but even Ukrainian AFU generals have yet to see them.

Lieutenant-Colonel Stuart Crawford believes that the tanks may have been assigned to formations not yet engaged in combat. According to another version, 14 units of the Challenger 2 are still undergoing maintenance.

In any case, Crawford believes that this number of British tanks is not enough for the AFU. They are vulnerable to both UAVs and mines. The real value of the Challenger 2 lies in the symbolism of the gift and the subsequent encouragement to other European countries to do the same.

🇨🇳 Exposes Alleged CIA Spy Accused of Providing Sensitive Military Data to 🇺🇸

Beijing said the suspect worked for an unidentified Chinese military industrial group which gave him access to important classified intel.

🇨🇳’s Ministry of State said the alleged spy – identified by his surname Zeng – was sent by his employer to advance his studies in Italy. While there he was approached by a 🇺🇸 Embassy official where they gradually developed a “close relationship,” the ministry claimed in a statement.

Zeng purportedly returned to China and met with CIA personnel multiple times to provide a “large amount of core intelligence.”

The case has been handed to prosecutors for review.
