🤔 US Army Picks Up the Kiev Tab - Cutbacks Incoming

With Ukraine aid stalled in Congress, the US Army had been left to foot the bill for more than $430mn and counting.

Without a confirmed budget or Ukraine supplemental, US Army Europe and Africa will run out of operational funds by May.

To avoid that, the Army will likely have to pull funds from elsewhere - like barracks reconstruction, or enlistment incentives.

⚠️ UK Court Set to Consider Last-Ditch Appeal by Julian Assange Fighting US Extradition

A two-day hearing in London’s high court will consider whether Australian-born Assange, who has been held in Belmarsh prison for almost five years, can be granted leave to appeal against an extradition decision made in 2022 by the then home secretary, Priti Patel.

Assange has requested to appear in court in person but is expected to appear via video link from Belmarsh.

His wife, Stella Assange, said: “His life is at risk every single day he stays in prison. If he’s extradited, he will die.”
