Jun Ohta, Chief of Japan's second-biggest bank, SMFG, navigated a scandal which saw multiple arrests and an ongoing trial of several executives and traders around block trades, allegedly in which information was inappropriately passed between the main banking division and its brokerage unit.

Details of his death last week, announced by the company on Monday Nov 27 and reported by FT, have not been given.

🔴 🇬🇷 Cargo Ship Sinks Off Greek Coast

13 of 14 crew members are missing from the "Raptor" vessel, which departed from Egypt and was en route to Istanbul, sank off the Greek island of Lesbos while carrying a shipment of salt.

The ship reportedly encountered a technical malfunction, and was carrying a crew consisting of eight Egyptians and Syrian and Indian nationals.

The Greek coast guard rescued one person who was airlifted by helicopter.
