I honestly don’t understand why Brooklyn are considered favorites. In my opinion, their form has been poor. Yes, they won their last two games (against struggling Chicago and Washington at the bottom of the standings), but before that they went through a nine-game losing streak. They also suffered a humiliating 57-point loss to Detroit - something that should not happen to any NBA team.

Indiana do have several question marks (Haliburton, Walker, Toppin), which naturally affects the odds. On the other hand, Brooklyn are missing their best player, Michael Porter Jr., who averages 25 points per game. Without him, the entire offense relies heavily on Porter’s absence being felt, as their second-best scorer averages just 13 points per game - a massive gap.

Head-to-head meetings have been relatively balanced. Brooklyn won the most recent one by 9 points, but Porter contributed 32 points in that game. Prior to that, Indiana had won three straight matchups.

In my opinion, Indiana are the serious favorite here, and I strongly recommend backing them at this price.
