⛴ Turkish Drillship Cagri Bey Arrives in Somalia
The Turkish seismic and drilling vessel Cagri Bey has reached Somali waters to start the country’s first offshore oil drilling operation.
The ship, which departed from Mersin in February, will drill the “Kurad-1” well later this month, marking a major milestone in Somalia’s energy sector.
Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Mohamed Omar, said a successful operation could boost economic growth and strengthen Turkey’s role as a reliable long-term partner.
Built in 2024 in South Korea, Cagri Bey can drill up to 12 km deep, is 228 m long, 42 m wide, and carries a crew of around 200. It is the sixth ship in Turkey’s fleet of seismic and drilling vessels.
💡 This project reflects growing Turkey-Somalia energy cooperation and Somalia’s ambitions in offshore oil.

Ortaköy Mosque stands so close to the water that during strong waves, splashes from the Bosphorus can reach its walls.
That’s why in photos it often looks like the mosque is “floating” on the strait — and this is not a camera effect, but its real location. 🕌🌊
Have a beautiful day filled with great views.

🏡 Beginner vs Professional: Choosing Property in Turkey
Many people choose property emotionally.
Professionals choose it strategically.
✔️ Beginner looks at: nice complex, sea view, modern design, “close to the beach”
✔️ Professional looks at: the district, real walking distances, year-round comfort, resale demand
✔️ Beginner asks: “Is it new? Is there a pool?”
✔️ Professional asks: “Is it comfortable in winter? How easy is it to resell?”
💡 Beautiful pictures don’t guarantee comfortable living or good investment.
What really matters is the area, surroundings, neighbors, and daily convenience.
Choose property based on real life and long-term value — not brochure promises.

🚨 500 and 1000 TL Banknotes in Turkey? Debate Heats Up
Turkey is once again discussing the possibility of introducing higher-denomination banknotes as inflation continues to erode purchasing power.
📉 The 200 TL banknote has lost significant value in recent years, sparking public debate about whether 500 TL and 1000 TL notes could become reality.
🏦 The Central Bank remains cautious, stating only that “if there is a need, necessary measures will be taken,” without confirming or denying any plans.
📊 Economists suggest that under current inflation conditions, introducing larger banknotes may only be a matter of time.
