The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the military invasion of the terrorist army of the USA in the early hours of Sunday, June 6, 2026, on radar and coastal observation facilities in the Sirik area and on Kish Island, which ensure the security of the country's borders and the safety of navigation in international waterways. This invasion is a gross violation of the ceasefire of April 8 and a military aggression against the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

This action, which is a continuation of the hostile and provocative behavior of the American regime towards the Islamic Republic of Iran, demonstrates the complete disregard of the ruling circles of America for the fundamental principles of international law and the UN Charter. The powerful armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, acting within the framework of the inalienable right to legitimate self-defense, responded to these aggressive actions with vigilance, determination and full force and did not allow the realization of the malicious goals of their organizers.

The repeated violations of the ceasefire by the USA once again prove that this country not only has no desire to reduce tensions and return to the path of stability, but also, with its adventurous actions, creates serious threats to regional security. The responsibility for all the consequences of these illegal actions, as well as for any possible escalation of tensions, lies with the US government.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, confirming the inalienable and legitimate right of the country to self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, declares that the Islamic Republic of Iran will defend its sovereignty, security and national interests, using all its capabilities and all its power. On this basis, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges the countries of the region to adhere to the principle of good-neighborliness and to the fundamental principle of international law, which prohibits providing aggressors with their territory and opportunities to plan and commit aggressive actions against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also calls on the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the Security Council and other responsible international bodies to immediately and effectively respond to the ongoing gross violation of the ceasefire and illegal actions of the USA, as well as to prevent further erosion of the norms of the UN Charter and actions that threaten regional and international peace and security.
