The GOP-led House just passed our Department of Defense appropriations bill to defend OUR country with ZERO Ukraine spending and my amendment to FIRE Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

It’s a great bill for our military and I’m proud we were able to remove funding for Ukraine and defend America!

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has been a failure for our military and for America.

Last night, the DOD appropriations bill passed the House with my Holman rule amendment to reduce his salary to $1.

But even that’s too much..

Imagine if Congress started to function like a successful business instead of a failing government playing the same games no matter which party is in charge.

We would stay in Washington in August & September to finish appropriations before the Sep 30th shutdown instead of going home every August and half of September.

Then we instead would go home for Thanksgiving through New Years to spend the holidays with our families and our districts because we would be finished with our constitutional duty of funding the government.

Not only a model of success for the country, but imagine how good that would be for our families, who constantly have their birthdays and special occasions tossed to the side because we “have” to be in Washington.

Or how about if we actually worked normal work hours, like 8 am to 5 pm, voting and introducing amendments, instead of not starting first votes until late afternoon or evening, and then being forced to stay late and not walking off the House floor until early morning hours well after midnight.

Members of Congress would be healthier and staff, especially desk clerks, would be happier as well.

I don’t think up to the deadline pressure produces good results and decades of America last policies and $33 Trillion dollars in debt is proof that Washington’s same old tricks just don’t work.

I came to Congress to make it work for the American people and that is exactly what I will continue to do.

Things have to change.

I voted NO on the stop-gap CR to fund the government that would be dead on arrival in the Senate and White House.

This is a government that’s weaponized against its political enemies. A government that puts Ukraine’s border above our own. And a government that isn’t working for OUR people.

I’m a successful business owner and I’ve always kept my business running.

But in the House, we went home for all of August and most of September.

We need to stay in Washington to pass our appropriations bills to fund the government the right way, not a CR the Democrat-controlled Senate would refuse to pass and Joe Biden would refuse to sign.

The Democrats are the party of shutdowns.

They tyrannically shutdown the American people during COVID and they are forcing a shutdown now.

Biden and Schumer said the House CR was dead on arrival because they refuse to shutdown the border and only want the government to stay open.

That’s because Washington cares more about Ukraine than the American people.

House Republicans have funded our military in the DOD appropriations bill. Not only that, it includes a raise for our troops.

The Democrat-controlled Senate should pass it immediately and Joe Biden should sign it into law, but they won’t because it doesn’t include any $$$ for Ukraine.

I'm voting against the CR because I'm not going to be part of a system of failure.

I'm not going to fund a government that has a weaponized Department of Justice that is constantly prosecuting President Trump, pro-life protesters, and anybody they deem a political enemy, all while ignoring the murders and rapes and nonstop crime that happens here in our nation's capital.

I'm not going to fund a government that doesn't care about our own border, but that worships Ukraine. And I think every American knows why, because Joe Biden took millions of dollars when he was Vice President doing political favors for Burisma.

Democrat Rep. Jamaal Bowman pulled the fire alarm in the Cannon building this afternoon and interrupted the official proceedings of the House as Republicans worked to keep the government open.

I’m calling on the DOJ to prosecute him using the same law they used to prosecute J6 defendants for interfering with an official proceeding.

The Democrats literally will do anything to shut OUR government down because billions aren’t going to their favorite country: Ukraine.

Jamaal Bowman must be treated exactly the same as Jan 6 defendants.

He was a school principal. He knows exactly what pulling a fire alarm means.

He did it while the Dems were trying to stall for time for the Senate and the Dem whip had just called for a motion to adjourn.

My office is in the Cannon building. When Jamaal pulled the fire alarm, the entire building had to be evacuated.

Everyone had to go down the stairs to get out and I waited until my entire staff was out before I went to vote.

We couldn’t go back in for over an hour.
