Rep. Tim Burchett, chairman of the House DOGE subcommittee, successfully pushed a bill through committee aimed at eliminating duplicative federal programs and cutting government inefficiency. Burchett said the legislation builds on efforts similar to Elon Musk’s DOGE initiative, pointing to years of reports from the Government Accountability Office identifying more than 2,000 actions needed to address overlapping and fragmented programs across the federal government.
