Global Auto-deletion of Messages Option

In Beta version of Telegram for macOS, you can see “Auto-delete messages” option in the privacy settings.

After enabling the function, in all new personal dialogs, as well as in new groups and channels created, messages will be automatically deleted after a period of time specified in the settings. The option will not work in previously created or started chats.

In the Beta version of Telegram for Android, users now have the ability to manage downloaded data in individual chats by deleting their cache by category.

The update is available under Data and Storage > Storage Usage.

Improved navigation between chats and forums

The Beta version of Telegram for Android has redesigned the forums.

All topics are now displayed in a panel that slides out from the right edge. When a forum is expanded, a list of all chats appears on the left side of the screen, and you can quickly navigate between them.

Anti-spam system from 100 participants

The Beta version of Telegram for Android has the option to enable an aggressive anti-spam system.

From the information we have, Telegram plans to improve the anti-spam system in groups. Admins will be able to enable the new "Aggressive anti-spam".

To improve the algorithms, admins can report false deletions in "Recent actions".

Aggressive Anti-spam is available only for chats with at least 100 participants.

This feature does not work properly now (a server-side restriction may have been set).

Complying with the August 30 ruling that held that courts in India can direct a messaging app to disclose the information of infringers

On August 30, the court had rejected Telegram's argument that it cannot share the data relating to the creators or users of the channels, as the said data is stored in its data servers in Singapore and the law there prohibits such disclosure.

The court had noted that though Telegram was blocking the channels which were disseminating infringing material, the users were creating new channels and operating in private mode.
