Recently, a paragraph in the explanation of Sponsored Messages was removed which was indicating that the feature is currently under testing:
Sponsored Messages are currently in test mode. Once they are fully launched and allow Telegram to cover its basic costs, we will start sharing ad revenue with the owners of public channels in which Sponsored Messages are displayed.
To view this explanation yourself, find any sponsored message, click the โSponsoredโ label, and choose โWhat are sponsored messages?โ.
We are currently unaware of any plans for sharing ad revenue with public channel owners.
