José Mourinho was born January 26, 1963, in Setúbal, Portugal. Raised in a football family, his father Félix was a goalkeeper and coach, fostering Mourinho's early tactical understanding. Though he initially played as a midfielder, he shifted focus to strategy and coaching, studying sports science at Lisbon Technical University. Mourinho began as an assistant coach and translator, notably working with Sir Bobby Robson at Sporting CP, FC Porto, and Barcelona. There, he mastered advanced tactical systems at Europe's highest level. Later, under Louis van Gaal, he further refined his tactical philosophy and understanding of elite football.
