Tomorrow begins the first complete cycle of the Sunday Readings annual cycle. Putting this together is a surprisingly complex juggling act. At first, I used GPT-4 for a lot of help but, I came to rely on it less and less. This year includes a bunch of tweaks to the familiar template.
The Sunday Scripture passages and confessional helps are keyed to the week's Lord's Day selection in the Heidelberg Catechism. Not every document has a chapter that fits each week. Some selections deal with issues not found the HC, which is intended to be basic, and some chapters are repeated. (I left out the Rejections from the Canons of Dort for simplicity, not to ignore them as the some do.)
The Weekday Readings take you through the OT once, the NT twice, Proverbs once by itself, and the Psalms 12 times in a year. I've also referred to existing harmonies: Beeke and Ferguson's Reformed Confessions Harmonized, Francis Beattie's The Presbyterian Standards, and the RCUS' Harmony Of The Three Forms Of Unity.
