From its inception, zionism has been a geopolitical construct. Today it presents the ‘Nazi holocaust’ against the jews in Europe as the historical explanation and the moral justification for the ‘zionist holocaust’ against the Palestinians.
If zionism were a genuine national-liberation movement, as is claimed by the zionists and their imperialist backers, it is pertinent to ask: why did it not seek to liberate the Jewish Pale of Settlement (home to most jews) in Russia?
Likewise the question arises as to why, when contemporary zionism claims to be exclusively jewish, are its origins traceable to non-jewish debates and writings of late nineteenth century England?
What claim can zionism make to Palestine that the Palestinians can’t make with much greater force? In the name of what can zionism justify the expulsion, dispossession, dispersal and oppression of millions of Palestinians on the basis of ancient, medieval and modern atrocities inflicted in Europe by some Europeans against their jewish populations?
What are the prospects of zionism in view of Israel’s rejection of the UN-backed Right of Return for the Palestinians while simultaneously justifying its own existence on the arbitrary law of ‘return’?
As things stand, the zionist state of Israel, through its occupation of territories it captured in the 1967 war, its continued colonisation and settlement building, has to all intents and purposes scuppered the two-state solution. That being the case, it will either have to impose its rule over the Palestinians through a system of brutal apartheid or grant them rights as equal citizens in a binational state.
Either way, it puts paid to the zionist dream of an exclusively jewish – not to say theocratic and racist – state. Of these two options, the zionists are likely to choose the former.
History provides sufficient proof that such a state of affairs cannot be maintained indefinitely. It must break down in the face of Palestinian resistance and the fatigue of neverending war between the oppressors and the oppressed.

We are encouraged to fly the Union Jack and wear a poppy “as a sign of respect”.
But the poppy was supposed to be a protest against the slaughter of WW1 – against he mechanised destruction of forty million workers, all for the sake of the colonial domination and superprofits of the capitalist gangsters. The great cry that rose up from the masses was: “Never again!”
During that war, two great groups of thieves fought over the spoils. And the earth trembled. What was it all about? It was about colonies and wage slaves, and the fabulous riches pf the imperialist butchers.
After WW1:

The divine right of a few European powers to subordinate not only their own workers as wage slaves, but to subject the world to themselves was unquestioned.
It is this that we are still dealing with today, whether we struggle against the racism on full display from all of our bourgeois political parties, the poverty of the mass of workers, or the colonial wars and genocide – and the suppression of all who speak out openly and campaign against them.
The only people who broke free after WW1 were the Soviet peoples. Led by Lenin and the Bolsheviks. They blazed a trail that we must all understand and follow.

After WW1:
The German African colonies were placed under two categories of Mandated B and C.
The former consisted of Tanganyika, which was handed over to Britain, with the exception of the province of Ruanda-Urundi. This was given to Belgium in compensation for the devastation she suffered from
German occupation.
Togoland and the Cameroons were each divided into two parts and assigned to Britain and France.
South-West Africa was placed in category C and awarded to the Union of South Africa, whose troops had invaded and occupied the territory during the war.
Italy, who in a secret treaty between herself and the Allies in 1915 had been promised a share in the colonial loot as a reward for having deserted the Central Powers, was left out.
To those who have much, more shall be added. And to those with little, even that shall be taken away.

LIVERPOOL City Council has allocated £250,000 to enable immediate essential repairs and environmental cleaning for Everton Library to take place so that the venue is able to be assessed to see how it can be redeveloped.
Built in 1896 by Thomas Shelmerdine, Everton Library is a Grade II listed building celebrated for its Jacobean and Arts and Crafts architecture. Known as the "Jewel on the Hill," it features a turret, glass-vaulted ceiling, and ornate ironwork, reflecting Liverpool's rich civic heritage and early public library movement.
The building has undergone significant decline and decay over the last 20 years. However, remedial and improvement works will ensure the building could return to use as a cultural and community asset.
The council will invest £250,000 to make the building as weatherproof and as environmentally clean as possible. The funding will support the completion of a specialist condition survey - a detailed, conservation-focused inspection and report that will record the building's fabric, defects, and causes of decay, and then set out repair priorities.
The survey will establish what needs to be done in ways that respect the building's historic significance and original materials.
The investment from Liverpool City Council ensures Everton Library will continue to form the "Golden Triangle" with St George's Church in Everton, and Everton Park to aid the areas ongoing regeneration
I don't share the optimism of this writer from Instagram GoodNewsLiverpool. This will only be enough to keep the building standing as they wait for another souless corporate enterprise's bid to turn it into hotel.

In the words of Friedrich Engels:
https://thecommunists.org/2025/04/30/news/capitalist-overproduction-crisis-solved-by-socialist-planned-economy/
Whilst the capitalist mode of production more and more completely transforms the great majority of the population into proletarians, it creates the power which, under penalty of its own destruction, is forced to accomplish this revolution. Whilst it forces on more and more the transformation of the vast means of production, already socialised, into state property, it shows itself the way to accomplishing this revolution.is humanity’s leap from the kingdom of necessity to the kingdom of freedom.
The proletariat seizes political power and turns the means of production in the first instance into state property. But, in doing this, it abolishes itself as proletariat, abolishes all class distinctions and class antagonisms, abolishes also the state as state.
Their political and intellectual bankruptcy is scarcely any longer a secret to the bourgeoisie themselves. Their economic bankruptcy recurs regularly every ten years. In every crisis, society is suffocated beneath the weight of its own productive forces and products, which it cannot use, and stands helpless face to face with the absurd contradiction that the producers have nothing to consume, because consumers are wanting.
The possibility of securing for every member of society, by means of socialised production, an existence not only fully sufficient materially, and becoming day by day more full, but an existence guaranteeing to all the free development and exercise of their physical and mental faculties – this possibility is now for the first time here, but it is here.
Only from that time [the rule of the working masses themselves, and a socialist planned economy] will man himself, with full consciousness, make his own history – only from that time will the social causes set in movement by him have, in the main and in a constantly growing measure, the results intended by him. This picture displays the 1959 Electrification Map of the USSR — a visual testament to the promise and power of a planned economy.
Before the launch of the First Five-Year Plan, the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of Soviets announced the creation of the State Electrification Commission (GOELRO).
— V.I. Lenin, Report on the Work of the Council of People’s Commissars, December 1920
Bolshevik electrical engineer Gleb Krzhizhanovsky was tasked with creating a unified electrical energy system across Russia. Lenin understood that if the Soviet Union was to survive, it needed heavy industry — and that could not be achieved without electrification.
The GOELRO Plan set out to build 30 major regional power stations (10 hydroelectric, 20 thermal) in preparation for the coming industrialisation of the USSR.
This map is the material record of the GOELRO Plan — the State Commission for Electrification of Russia — which laid the foundations of the Soviet industrial economy by turning darkness into light, backwardness into production, and scattered peasantry into collective strength.
By erecting hydro-stations, linking factories with the countryside, and building nation-wide grids, the Soviet state delivered on its promise of modernity for the working class. Electrification became the standard by which the socialist economy proved its power to transform society.

Circular 16 — How Labour Tried to Purge the Working Class Communists.
In 1928 the Trades Union Congress issued Circular 16. A quiet little order with a big aim: kick those pesky communists out of the labour movement.
It told trades councils up and down the country not to seat delegates from “proscribed organisations.”
That meant the Communist Party of Great Britain, the Minority Movement, and any group that refused to toe the reformist Labour line.
Councils that defied it were threatened with expulsion from the TUC. In places of strong agitation like Liverpool, South Wales, and Scotland, this meant elected, working-class communists, often the most active organisers, were banned from the very institutions they helped build.
Circular 16 split the movement right when the ruling class feared another 1926-style general strike.
The Labour and TUC leaders referred to it as “protecting unity.” but what it really did was protect the Labour aristocracy, the layer of officials, MPs and careerists who lived comfortably on capitalist concessions and were terrified of a real workers’ movement challenging British capitalism itself.
The Labour Party as an organisation was never built for the whole working class. Incidents, and there have been many, like this prove its real objectives.
It was built for the privileged section of workers that enjoyed concessions from the ruling class and wanted them to continue.
And Circular 16 was another enablement at the time, not against the Tories (their pantomime enemy), but against the revolutionary workers inside their own ranks.
