China is likely building the first submarine drone carrier.
🔻 Satellite images show that an unusual vessel is being constructed at the Shanghai shipyard "Hudong-Zhonghua", which could become the world's first specialized floating base for large unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs). According to Naval News, the ship has a design that is not typical for conventional landing platforms. In the stern, there is a submersible platform with a lifting and launching mechanism, allowing UUVs to be deployed and recovered directly from the sea. Inside the hull, there is reportedly a hangar that can accommodate approximately four full-size vehicles or more of a smaller class. To date, China is already testing at least two types of large UUVs</a> that are up to 40 meters long. In size, they are 6-8 times larger than the American Orca UUV.

Pyongyang, September 20th conducted tests on a new hypersonic missile under the personal supervision of Kim Jong-un.
The published footage showed, for the first time, flight data for the missile, identified as "Hwaseong-11B-1". According to North Korean data, the missile was in the air for 446.1 seconds, reached a speed of 2146 m/s (approximately 6.3 Mach), reached a peak altitude of 35.8 km, and traveled 908.2 km.
However, these figures differ significantly from information provided by South Korea. According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, on that day, North Korea launched two missiles from the Wonsan area, with a time interval of approximately three hours. The first missile traveled about 450 km, and the second traveled over 600 km.
South Korean experts believe that these are new versions of the KN-23 ("Hwaseong-11") series, featuring a hypersonic gliding warhead. They estimate that the missile has improved aerodynamic surfaces and capabilities for low-altitude gliding and maneuvering. If these characteristics are confirmed, the system will become a significantly more challenging target for South Korea's, Japan's, and the United States' missile defense systems in the region.
The main threat posed by such missiles to enemies in the region is not only their high speed. They are capable of flying along unpredictable trajectories, performing maneuvers during the cruise phase, and changing their flight profile in the final stage, which significantly complicates their detection, tracking, and interception.
