China has unveiled a new unmanned system: a robotic platform with large protective shields designed to cover soldiers, while drones and ground robots create smoke screens, concealing the movement of units. In the video, it all looks impressive: the machines move ahead, protecting the soldiers and creating a sense of complete security.
However, real combat will quickly test these ideas. Today, the main enemy on the battlefield is not a soldier with a rifle, but a cheap drone. A single FPV drone with a payload can destroy equipment that costs thousands of times more. Any large and slow robot becomes an easy target for reconnaissance drones, thermal imagers, RPGs, and anti-tank weapons.

It may hide movement from the naked eye, but modern armies use thermal imagers, radars, and other means that continue to see the target even through the smoke. Moreover, any unmanned machine depends on a communication and control channel, making it vulnerable to electronic warfare systems.

Pentagon Launches "Mole Hunt" Using Lie Detectors
The United States is embroiled in one of the most significant scandals in recent military leadership history. Following a leak of classified information regarding stockpiles of precision-guided weapons, the Pentagon conducted a large-scale investigation using polygraph tests. Dozens of high-ranking military officials, including representatives from the U.S. Central Command and other commands, were subjected to the tests.
According to CBS News, President Donald Trump was reportedly furious after the publication of information about the actual stockpiles of American ammunition. Access to this information was extremely limited, so Washington took the possibility seriously that the source of the leak might be working for foreign intelligence. The last of the five air defense systems under the $5.43B contract between the two countries is to be transferred to India this Autumn, Hindustan Times reports.
The contract was signed in 2018. In 2021-2023, the first three systems were deployed in India.
Russia has offered India five more squadrons of S-400s, and the final decision on the matter is to be taken after finalizing the cost, the report adds.
More supplies of S-400 air defense systems to India are possible, the head of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Dmitry Shugayev said earlier.

New satellite images, dated September 7th, show the modernization of a Chinese target ship. A superstructure has appeared on its deck, which visually resembles an American Arleigh Burke-class destroyer or modern warships of Japan and South Korea.
The ship is located at the Jiangsu Dayang Marine Equipment shipyard in the city of Taizhou, Jiangsu province. It is here that target ships and electronic simulation complexes are built, which are used by the PLA Navy to train crews and test new weapons systems.
The main goal of the modernization is to bring the tests as close as possible to real combat conditions. Simulating the silhouette, size, and reflective surfaces allows researchers to test how radar stations, missile guidance systems, drones, and other reconnaissance equipment detect, track, and engage ships.
