Awesome Jetpack Suit
This might look like something from the latest Marvel film, but this jetpack suit actually represents a major breakthrough in the field of mountain rescue and critical care. The pilot, a paramedic named Jamie Walsh, had only six days of training before he flew the suit up Helvellyn, the third highest peak in the UK. This impressive feat also demonstrates that the suit can be used in conditions a helicopter wouldnโt be able to fly in.
Jamie was able to fly to the summit of Helvellyn in just 3.5 minutes compared to the current response time of 1 hour and 15 minutes. The program hopes to implement the Jet Suit Paramedic in summer 2022 to help those that get injured in the area.
