The Duhare Tribe part 2
When the two ships arrived in present-day South Carolina, the Spanish were friendly with the Duhare people but captured 70-80 natives of the Chicora as slaves. Upon their return to the Caribbean, they told of the Duhare people that they had met, which was recorded by Peter Martyr d’Anghiera, an Italian historian in the service of Spain to chronicle the explorers activities. He clarified that the Duhare stood at least a foot taller than the Spanish and were an advanced society compared to other natives. More documentation states that when Spanish explorer Lucas Vazquez de Ayllon landed in modern-day South Carolina in 1526, he found the Duhare in possession of some form of pyrotechnic devices including sparklers and rockets. He also observed that the people divided their year into twelve moons.

Some researchers believe that these people may have been of Irish origin. It is known that several Gaelic tribes in Ireland had domesticated dairy deer before dairy cows. Deer milk has been celebrated in Gaelic poetry. In Gaelic dictionaries, the word Duhare can be translated two ways: as di-hAicher, meaning place of the Clan Hare or du’hEir, meaning place of the Irish. The word Datha is a Medieval Irish Gaelic word that means painted. The Vikings, who are now known to have explored North America long before Christopher Columbus, described the Irish as able seamen who traveled extensively. The Vikings also claimed that the Irish occupied an area south of the Chesapeake Bay called Hvitramamaland, meaning Land of the White. The Shawano Indians recognized a white tribe in Florida, who were said to have had iron implements. The Duhare were also known to have had metal tools.

The Tuatha dé Danann were a supernatural race that arrived in Ireland during a time when the island was ruled by a group known as the Fir Bolg. Tuatha dé Danann are referred to as queens and heroes Of Ireland who possessed magical powers. At times, some writers referred to them as Celtic Gods and Goddesses. Lebor Gabála Érenn is a collection of poems and narratives that offers a history of Ireland from it's creation. In this book, the legend goes that the Tuatha Dé Danann came to Ireland on flying ships, of sorts, surrounded by dark clouds that engulfed them. Legend says they came from Hyper-Borea while other tales say they came from Tír na nÓg (The Land of Youth).
On their arrival to Ireland they are said to have landed on Iron mountain in County Leitrim (my home). The Tuatha Dé Danann are often described as tall gods and goddesses that have blonde or red hair, blue or green eyes and pale skin.

In the Lebor Gabála Érenn, medieval Irish history, the Milesians are the final race to settle in Ireland. The Milesians are Gaels who sail to Ireland from Iberia after spending hundreds of years travelling the earth. Only when they land in Ireland they had to contend with the Tuatha Dé Danann, who represent the pagan gods. The two groups agree to divide Ireland between them: the Milesians take the world above, while the Tuath Dé take the world below. The Tuath Dé Danann dwell in the Otherworld but interact with humans and the human world. They are associated with ancient passage tombs, such as Brú na Bóinne, which were seen as portals to the Otherworld.
