RTE audience votes firmly against Ireland joining EU migration Pact.

In what was clearly a surprise to RTE Up Front presenter Katie Hannon, the audience of the Public Broadcaster's principle current Affairs programme voted overwhelmingly 'No' when asked if Ireland should sign up to the EU migration Pact that would likely see mass immigration soar further.

Not one audience member voted in favour.

McEntee has pushed the UN Migration Pact Dáil Vote (without debate) to the very next session of the Dáil, before opposition to it gains traction. She has learned from the stalled "Hate Speech" bill. The Government has said that they are opting into it so it is only a vote No on Tuesday which can prevent this.

The Migrant pact will mean that we lose control of our border. The amount of asylum seekers coming here will be determined by the EU with no upper limit.

The illustration shows the death by lightning of the High King of Ireland Nath Í, a.k.a. Dathi, son of Fiachra. Nath Ì was High King during the early 5th century AD. He was one of the grandsons of the High King Eochaid Mugmedon, and became the progenitor of the powerful Uí Fiachrach clans of Connacht.

The Irish tale The Death of Crimthann mac Fidaig and of the Sons of Eochaid Mugmedon tells of his early life. His uncle Brion (progenitor of the Uí Briuin clans of Connacht) had defeated his father Fiachra at the Battle of Damhchluain, taking him prisoner and handing him to his half-brother, the High King Niall of the Nine Hostages (progenitor of the Uí Néill clans of Meath and Ulster). Nath Í then rose up and challenged Brion, defeating and killing him in a second battle fought at Damhchluain. Fiachra was then released by Niall, and appointed as his chief general and levier of tributes, in lieu of Brion. Shortly thereafter, Fiachra was mortally wounded while campaigning in Munster, leaving Nath Í as his successor. Some years later, he would also become High King, after his uncle Niall was killed while raiding in Roman Britain.

Nath Í emulated Niall, so that his reign was marked by prolific campaigning in Scotland and Roman Britain. It was in this context that he finally met his death in the year 445 AD. Muddled sources state he was struck by lightning in the Alps, though modern scholars think this is a confusion due to the similarity of the names Ealpa (“Alps”) and Alba (“Britain”). Later tales, such as Aided Nath Í, elaborated, stating that he’d besieged the tower of a monk named Formén, who prayed for deliverance, causing Nath Í to be hit by lightning. The king was carried back to Ireland and buried at the royal site of Cruachán Ai in Connacht. His son Ailill Molt would go on to become High King some years later.

Reminder that asylum seekers from Somalia, Afghanistan, Eritrea, Libya, Sudan, Yemen and Syria are expedited through the asylum system in Ireland and are granted refugee status in 99% of cases.

Here are the population figures for those seven countries:

🔹 Eritrea 6.08 million
🔹 Libya 6.96 million
🔹 Sudan 44.91 million
🔹 Yemen 20.49 million
🔹 Syria 22.13 million

That's a pool of 153 million people who could travel to Ireland, be granted refugee status and then apply for family reunification.

The open border activists, NGOs and politicians love to talk about their human rights, but always neglect ours.
