Children are being snatched from Irish state care and forced into sex slavery.

In one case, a 14-year-old girl was trafficked to Ireland from Niger and was abducted by a criminal gang who were tracking her movements within minutes of her entering State care.

She was found over a year later locked in a Limerick brothel, where she had been forced to work as a sex slave.

In another case, an Irish child absconded from a care home in the Mid-West after being groomed by a 'Dublin-based' gang. She was later found with other children 'working' out of a fast-food restaurant toilet.

Security sources say it is very difficult for gardaí to get information on West African trafficking gangs from victims as they are threatened with voodoo and their documents are disposed of.

A UCD academic said there seems to be groups of men who know the addresses of care homes and are striking up contact with vulnerable girls to groom them.

Who Owns the Gas Fields?
The issue of sovereignty over Gaza’s gas fields is crucial. From a legal standpoint, the gas reserves belong to Palestine.
The death of Yasser Arafat, the election of the Hamas government and the ruin of the Palestinian Authority have enabled Israel to establish de facto control over Gaza’s offshore gas reserves.
British Gas (BG Group) has been dealing with the Tel Aviv government. In turn, the Hamas government has been bypassed in regards to exploration and development rights over the gas fields.
In 2006, British Gas “was close to signing a deal to pump the gas to Egypt.” (Times, May, 23, 2007). According to reports, British Prime Minister Tony Blair intervened on behalf of Israel with a view to shunting the agreement with Egypt.

The military occupation of Gaza is intent upon transferring the sovereignty of the gas fields to Israel in violation of international law."
