OPINION PIECE: The Russian ambassador,His Excellency Mr Yuriy Filatov,referring to the death of Irish Mercenary Finbar Cafferky in the Ukraine stated that “every loss of life is sad and regretful”. I would fully agree. Mr Filatov also stated that the Irish government and media bore responsibility for his death. I would also fully agree with that. The government and purchased media have been relentless in demonising Russia by presenting a one way narrative on the conflict in the Ukraine. This is a complex border dispute that has been hijacked by vested interest rather than trying to determine what the population in the borderlands want. They speak Russian,they may consider themselves as Russian but either way there opinion must be sought and that has not happened,they have been ignored and the Ukrainian refuses to discuss what the borderlands population prefer. The Tánaiste expressed sympathy to the family of Mr Cafferky and described him as ‘obviously a man of clear principle’. How does the Tánaiste know that? The ambassador stated that if these remarks meant that the Tánaiste and thereby the government supported Irish people fighting in the Ukraine that ‘then Ireland would be a direct participant in the conflict with all the ensuing consequences’ This is very clear but also very fair,if you take sides you must also take the consequences. We should not be taking sides. We are a military minnow with a government attempting to impress our globalist masters by making bellicose gestures towards Russia and apparently oblivious of the natural consequences of such action. Charlie Flannagan of Fine Gael,chair of the Oireachtas committee for Foreign Affairs and Defence, called for the Ambassador to be expelled. Junior Minister Kieran O Donnell agreed with Charlie Flannagan,presumably on behalf of the government,but stated that the Ambassador would not be expelled. But what sort of an impression is this creating and in who’s name and on what authority. The Irish nation was never consulted,a referendum on these clear breaches of neutrality and sovereignty was never held. Out government presumes to speak in our name without reference to us. We have declared political and economic war on Russia and now we seem to be giving acknowledgment to mercenaries from Ireland who fight against Russian forces. Little by little we are being sucked into a conflict that if it were to involve NATO would place us at the heart of the conflict in its opening minutes. Our extensive coastline and two long runways capable of taking anything that can fly could not be ignored by either side in a conflict. And if that conflict went nuclear as it would the consequences are too horrific to contemplate. Our government has put us in this exposed and dangerous situation with little thought for the welfare of our people or the very survival of the Irish nation itself to please an internationalist agenda composed of NATO,the UN and EU,to serve and please every globalist body except our own people. The time has come to reiterate our neutrality,reclaim our sovereignty and defend our nation from reckless behaviour and dangerous international policy. Keep Ireland Neutral.
