I've taken a quick break from the net, and will get back into the Lebor Gabála Érenn soon.

Folks, especially modern "scholars" would like to dismiss it all, just like they would like to dismiss the idea that Irish folks exist at all as a people.

For those of us in the States, as well as those in Canada (get it together Australia) March is "Irish Heritage Month".

After having african "history" and "culture" rammed down our throats for an entire month, it's time to get back to reality and recognize the race that actually built our Nations, a race worth celebrating. The race that has the greatest culture, and the richest history. The Irish race, the Gaels.

Soo much of our history has dismissed, suppressed, destroyed, or credit given to another.

It is time to reclaim our existence, our culture, our history, our homelands and our identities.

We are Gaels.

We are the Irish.

We have soo much to be thankful for and proud of, and it's time for us ALL to start acting like it.

There were tense scenes in Stoneybatter last night outside the gates of Aughrim St Sports Centre which is set to accommodate asylum seekers.

Labour Councillor Joe Costello, who lives nearby, attempted to address the crowd. He told them only Ukrainians were to be housed there but the crowd were dismissive of his remarks and took back the microphone.

One mother said she had been on the housing list for 20 years and was recently taken off it for reasons that weren't clear. Her voice cracked as she spoke of her disappointment in the system — "What about my family???"

Another Irish mother said she has a child with one kidney which requires a catheterisation procedure five times daily. She is currently homeless.

Dublin taxi driver Gavin Pepper told the crowd that he intends to run in the next election.

"They call me Gavin Pepper — the man for the mams & prams...there's more of us than there is of them. Don't ever forget that."

An improvised explosive device (IED) was detonated by unidentified individuals around the Biaka Junction area in Buea.

Nineteen athletes were being treated for blast injuries after multiple small explosions during a running race in part of western Cameroon where English-speaking separatists are fighting government forces, a local doctor said.
