Emily, britânica-israelense, foi sequestrada pelo Hamas durante o ataque terrorista de 7 de outubro de 2023, no Kibutz Kfar Aza. Após 471 dias de cativeiro cruel e desumano na Faixa de Gaza, ela foi libertada em 19 de janeiro de 2025.

Durante o cativeiro, Emily precisou esconder sua orientação sexual dos sequestradores. Em entrevista, ela afirmou que ser descoberta como gay teria sido “pior do que eles saberem que eu era judia ou israelense”.

Segundo o Times of Israel, Emily e Danielle assumiram publicamente o relacionamento meses após a libertação. Em janeiro de 2026, Emily pediu Danielle em casamento durante uma festa que marcava um ano de seu retorno do cativeiro.

As climate change drives water scarcity across the globe, a solution is being built on Israel's Mediterranean coast. Israel has launched a tender for one of the world's largest seawater desalination plants, with a planned annual production capacity of 400 million cubic meters (≈ 105.7 billion gallons) - equivalent to approximately 40% of Israel's total annual freshwater consumption by households and industry!

The facility will be built in the Emek Hefer Industrial Zone near Netanya in central Israel, covering an area of 20 hectares (≈ 49.4 acres), and is expected to be operated under a public-private partnership for 25 years. The project could also support the Prosperity Blue initiative - a proposed water-for-energy arrangement in which Israel would supply Jordan with up to 200 million cubic meters (≈ 52.8 billion gallons) of desalinated water annually in exchange for renewable electricity, with the UAE as a partner.

Israel has long been a world leader in water technology. This is what that leadership looks like in action. 🇮🇱💧

After more than a decade of archaeological excavations, a breathtaking 1,600-year-old mosaic depicting the biblical hero Samson is finally on public display in the Galilee, northern Israel. Discovered in the remains of an ancient synagogue at Hukok, near the Sea of Galilee, the mosaic dates to the fourth or fifth century and depicts scenes straight from the Book of Judges - including Samson carrying the gates of Gaza and tying torches to the tails of foxes.

The synagogue was used by a Jewish community during the Talmudic period, when the Roman and Byzantine empires ruled the land. The mosaic is now part of the "Secrets of Law" exhibition at Beit Yigal Alon in Kibbutz Ginosar - telling a story of Jewish life in the Land of Israel that is 1,600 years old and still very much alive. The roots of the Jewish people in this land run deep. 🇮🇱🏺
