After 12 days of relentless search and rescue operations in earthquake-devastated Cali, Colombia, Israel's "Alliance of Brothers" delegation has returned home. The team of approximately 80 rescuers, engineers, and experts led by the IDF Home Front Command located and rescued 29 missing people - and left with a remarkable declaration from Home Front Command chief Maj. Gen. Shai Klapper: "Today we can say - there are no missing people left in the city of Cali."

The 7.4-magnitude earthquake that struck Colombia on August 10 killed at least 331 people, injured over 4,400, and left 240 missing nationwide. In Cali, Israel's delegation worked alongside Colombian authorities, local rescue teams, and international organizations at several major destruction sites - not only searching for survivors but also helping map and classify damaged buildings to support reconstruction efforts.

"I met a delegation imbued with a sense of mission and endless motivation to save lives," said Klapper. We stand with the people of Colombia - and are proud of every Israeli who answered the call. Even in the midst of war, Israel shows up for the world.

It is unethical and completely outrageous that celebrities like Mark Ruffalo and Cate Blanchett are demanding the release of Marwan Barghouti, a known member of terrorist groups like Tanzim and Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, that carried out suicide bombings and other vicious crimes against Israeli civilians during the Palestinian Second "Intifada" terrorist war. Barghouti is not a “political prisoner.” He was convicted of five counts of murder and one attempted murder. There is no public-relations campaign that can erase the innocent lives taken or the suffering of their families. Glorifying a convicted murderer rewards terrorism and dishonors the victims.

Ruffalo atacou a família Ellison, proprietária da Oracle e da Paramount, por causa da proposta de aquisição da Warner pela Paramount. No meio da discussão, ele trouxe Israel para a história, atacando as relações da Oracle com o país e voltando a acusar Israel de cometer “genocídio” e “apartheid” na Faixa de Gaza.

O histórico de acusações do ator a Israel é amplo e antigo. Criticar o governo israelense não é antissemitismo. Mas quando Israel passa a ser retratado sistematicamente como um Estado essencialmente criminoso, antigos estereótipos sobre poder e influência judaica reaparecem no discurso e até informações sobre o Hamas são relativizadas, a discussão é maior que simplesmente sobre uma política específica do governo israelense.

As climate change drives water scarcity across the globe, a solution is being built on Israel's Mediterranean coast. Israel has launched a tender for one of the world's largest seawater desalination plants, with a planned annual production capacity of 400 million cubic meters (≈ 105.7 billion gallons) - equivalent to approximately 40% of Israel's total annual freshwater consumption by households and industry!

The facility will be built in the Emek Hefer Industrial Zone near Netanya in central Israel, covering an area of 20 hectares (≈ 49.4 acres), and is expected to be operated under a public-private partnership for 25 years. The project could also support the Prosperity Blue initiative - a proposed water-for-energy arrangement in which Israel would supply Jordan with up to 200 million cubic meters (≈ 52.8 billion gallons) of desalinated water annually in exchange for renewable electricity, with the UAE as a partner.

Israel has long been a world leader in water technology. This is what that leadership looks like in action. 🇮🇱💧
