Lili Elbe is one of the first people to receive gender-affirming surgery.
We might know more about her story if that Nazis didn't burn the books at the Hirschfield Institute. Maybe we'd know more about her if Dresden wasn't bombed to nothing.
Either way, transgender people are nothing new. There is a concerted effort out there to erase our history and convince people that it's some kind of new trend.
but it isn't. it's an expression of humanity.
