Today, December 2, marks 161 years since the death of John Brown, one of the baddest motherfuckers to ever walk West Virginia's soil.

Lmao, I literally thought this while watching his comments.

So, as someone who follows a lot of Solarpunk stuff, I would like to take a minute to address the increasingly widespread notion that Solarpunk is apolitical. All aesthetics are political, as they all make comments on materialism and traditionalism, deliberately or not. Additionally, Solarpunk is a genre of speculative fiction. Speculative fiction, by definition, presents a vision of the future. It makes statements about the values of that future. Solarpunk's character is decidedly inclusive, environmentalist, and, as is often overlooked, anti-capitalist, and the image of the future it presents reflects that.
