Realme finally returns to its Parent!

According to realme customer support India, realme has returned back to OPPO as a sub-brand. This follows similar scenario as OnePlus merger with Oppo. This change seems to be globally across all regions

What this could mean is Oppo team could take over or collaborate with realme for R&D in both hardware (new devices,products, IoT etc) and Software perhaps bringing better, refined product as well as more refined and optimisation software experience. Further there remains no clarity about after sales service.

Realme has started adding release Candidate update Category in existing devices!

realme has always relied on traditional means of rolling out the OTA Update which meant rolling them out in phases initially and randomly. Things have changed since many android skins are switching to release Candidate model for OTA updates.

So what does it change/Mean?

This means that from now onwards realme will rollout OTA updates in release Candidate section initially where anyone who wants to try the update out can do so. Realme like their siblings can now let users have early sneak peak into the latest update before it rolls out to users in badges itself. This changes the pattern where users complained not being able to selectively try new update initially.

Why is this better?

Eager users can now freely and selectively opt in release Candidate if they want to try update earlier. However it still would be rolled out gradually but users get satisfaction of trying update earlier. It also helps in early bug detection.

Realme has officially started transitioning towards software unification in India for their next major update after merging with OPPO. According to internal administrative sources of realme, realme will be bringing major policy changes in their software department before official android 17 release. insider info claims that

- realme will bump android update policy to 8 android updates + 12 years security updates for GT Pro lineup, 5 Android + 6 security Updates for GT lineup, 4 android + 5 security updates for GT xT and SE lineups.
- new software policy draft also claims all GT devices to mandatorily get monthly Updates for 3-8 years depending on device policy. rest number ,P and narzo lineup to get monthly updates for 2-3 years
- Also major internal code suggests realme will finally transition to ColorOS for seamless optimisation resolving all their optimisation issues.
- ALSO REALME WILL OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCE IT ON , well y'all just fell for an April Fool Prank :P
