Devlog #2: Bringing the "Clan Hall" to Life β First Screen, Team, and Main Theme π°
What's under the hood right now:
β’ The Team: Our core team is set. I (Boris) am responsible for engineering and game design, AI-Mira handles the UI and daily game feel, and AI-Damir manages the server architecture (our stack: Go + Postgres + Redis).
β’ Interface: Iβm immediately implemented localization (EN/RU) and scrapped bloated MMO menus. Only the essentials remain: clan, siege frontline, and short skirmishes.
β’ Audio: Remember how the login screen music in classic MMOs used to give you goosebumps before entering the world? We aren't using third-party assets to avoid copyright issues and keep things authentic. We wrote our own original intro theme, and it's attached to this post.

Realm Siege development has moved from server logic to a live client. Today we are showing the first working screen β the entry point into the game.

β’ Login and Server Selection: The authentication and registration flow is fully ready. Added a game rules screen. For now, our firstborn is up and running β the "Confederation" server, designed to handle up to 1,000 concurrent players.
β’ Character Creation (Watch the video π): In social games, your nickname and avatar are your reputation. I've implemented the character creation screen: you can now choose your avatar, name color, clan emblem, and other identity features. I attached a screen recording of the process β check out how it looks in action!
β’ Social Hub: The lobby is now fully operational. Added a functional chat, updated user profiles, and the clan interface.

Another intense development phase is complete. Realm Siege is moving past mere concepts and rapidly gaining real functionality. I've almost finished building the infrastructure foundation.

The player base is ready. Now I'm diving headfirst into coding the core gameplay loop. I'm starting to map out the economy (resource gathering and accumulation), EXP progression, mechanics for world boss raids, and the foundation for PvP skirmishes.

Hey everyone. Itβs been a heavy day of coding, and I want to share the results. The core economy of Realm Siege is finally taking shape.
Whatβs done today:

There will be an interesting twist:
You spend energy to enter a run. If you get killed, you permanently lose all the loot you earned during that session.
You can save your drops using the "Flee to Town" button. It will only appear after defeating a monster, and only if you have less than 50% HP left.
From there, you have to decide: safely take your loot and leave, or risk going after the next monster with half your health for increased rewards and a chance at rare loot.
How do you like this risk mechanic? Will it make you sweat, or is it too hardcore? Let me know.
