I take advantage of the Word and the blessings of the Spirit, through which I am trained, strengthened and instructed for a continuous life of victory, success, promotion, and greatness. I am divinely enabled to do as God’s word says; thus, I refuse to subject myself to circumstances and situations that are contrary to the word of God concerning me. Hallelujah! Hallelujah!! I have eternal life in me; this life produces everything I need to live and enjoy a fruitful and productive life here on earth. I refuse to consider what my body tells me because the life that I have is indestructible. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. I rule and reign over every form of sickness; no cancer, tumor, diabetes or arthritis can stay in my body in the Name of Jesus. Glory to God. Hallelujah!

*WHEN YOU BELIEVE, YOU RECEIVE ~ PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME*

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" *(Hebrews 11:1).*

To believe is to act your faith; believing is the action of faith. Faith itself is the response of the human spirit to the Word of God, and that response is evidence. When you act your faith (believe), you receive and it's endorsed; you no longer require further evidence.

It's like the judgement that's given in a court of law on the basis of evidence produced. Once the judgement is passed; you don't have to come again with further evidence; the evidence has been accepted and that's why the judgement was made. Likewise, when you believe, you've judged whatever it is that you've believed to be true, and as a result, something happens: you receive! We don't believe for nothing; the believer is a *"haver."*

For example, the Bible says, *"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life..."* (John 3:36). When you believed in Jesus Christ, you received eternal life: *"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath eternal life"* (John 6:47). That's why John said, *"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life..."* (1 John 5:13).

Eternal life isn't a hope in the *Sweet By-and-By;* something you're waiting on God to make it happen for you; no! You got it when you believed; it's your present-hour possession. Let's examine Mark 11:24 in the same light; it says, *"Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when you pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."* It's not when you hold what you desire in your hands or see with your physical eyes that you know you have it; your spirit took possession at the time you prayed in faith and believed that you got it. *Hallelujah!*

Often, young people ask how they can become more effective in their life generally; they want to know how to develop an effective personality. Well, God wants you to be an effective person, not just at school or in restricted areas of your life but all-round. If you are an effective person, you will be effective in anything. That is why you have to develop an effective personality.

The Holy Spirit living in you already gives you the advantage, for we read in our opening verse that *“…you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, (or effectiveness), and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you….”* It is very easy to become the best in whatever you do.

Firstly, be focused. Maintain a clear focus on the goal, target, or task. If it is your assignment or a special project from school, whatever it is, have a clear focus.

Secondly, have a good understanding of the subject matter; understand the requirements for the project or task and everything that has to do with your expectations. In other words, know what needs to be done, and the results expected.

Thirdly, have a clear determination for real success—lasting success. You have to be determined, motivated, challenged, and driven by the joy of success.

Fourthly, have corresponding action; you have to act. Don’t laze away!
Finally, be consistent and diligent! Stay on it until it is done; don’t make or accept excuses for failure. Refuse mundanity and choose to be absolutely proficient. Then of course, recognize and take advantage of the wisdom of God that is available to you in Christ Jesus. If you would put all these to work, you will be effective and successful in what you do.

*THE WINNING MENTALITY*

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” *(Philippians 4:13).*

Those who grew up in homes where their confession was at variance with the thoughts in the opening text may have had it difficult to cultivate the kind of mentality Paul exhibited. They might have grown up listening to their parents say, *“I can’t do this,”* or *“I can’t do that”*; *“there’s no money,”* or *“we don’t have enough.”* However, the Spirit’s desire for you is to cultivate the *“I can do”* mentality. That is the way I think.

Whatever God has laid for me to do, I can do it. I can do anything; I can have anything; I can! In Paul’s epistle to the Philippians, we read of his beautiful, Spirit-inspired testimony of himself. He had come to terms with the truth that the ability to do the impossible was at work in him, and that he was solely responsible for the extent to which that power in him worked.

Notice that he did not say, *“We can do all things…”,* rather, he personalized it; this was his very own testimony. He made a confession that the ability of the Spirit had been granted him to achieve supernatural exploits in life. This same Apostle, in Ephesians 3:20-21, writes, *“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.”*

Practice this. You might even make many mistakes, but do not be discouraged; that does not mean anything, because you are still learning; soon enough you will perfect it. Someone might say, *“I don’t have sufficient time to achieve the things I want to do,”* no! When you practice making the *“I can do”* confession, such things will be totally eradicated from your vocabulary, and therefore, your system.

Rather than saying you don’t have time for this or that, keep your composure, knowing that the God who lives in you is the owner of time. In Joel 2:25 (MSG), He said, *“I’ll make up for the years of the locust, the great locust devastation—Locusts savage, locusts deadly, fierce locusts, locusts of doom….”* If He can restore wasted years, He can restore wasted months, wasted weeks, wasted days, wasted hours, wasted minutes, wasted seconds, and wasted moments. Hallelujah!

*CHRIST IS OUR SOURCE AND OUR SUFFICIENCY*

“For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills” *(Psalm 50:10).*

Proverb 13:22 says, *“…and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just”*; this is nice, but as a child of God, you have to transcend that level. You should live better and higher than waiting for the wealth of the sinners to be passed on to you. Realize who you are: you are the seed of Abraham! Your wealth and riches in Christ are inexhaustible.

Sinners don’t have what it takes to do the mighty and extraordinary things we do for the expansion of God’s Kingdom; and that is a fact. Therefore, it will be amiss to wait on them. Don’t count on the wealth of the sinners to come to you; you are an heir of the Sovereign, living by Kingdom principles. That is your guarantee for a life of absolute abundance.

Understand that there are blessings in the Old Testament that don’t measure up with what we have in the New Testament. We are of the New Testament, not of the Old. You are a joint-heir with Christ. Christ owns everything; He owns the world, and so do you. 1 Corinthians 3:21 says, *“Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours.”*

Why then should you be waiting on the wealth of the sinners to be turned over to you? No; you are too big for that; rather, you and your heavenly Father—the Monarch of the Universe—have become partners to bless others, including the sinners. Jesus Christ the son of the living God loves you and He wants you to also prove your love to Him by living for Him all the days of your life.

*BE EFFECTIVE IN SOUL WINNING*

"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature" *(Mark 16:15).*

Shortly before He ascended, the Lord commissioned the Church to take His gospel to all men and bring them to eternal life. This is the standing order to the Church---we've all been enlisted into the ministry of reconciliation: *"And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation"* (2 Corinthians 5:18). We have a divine mandate to reach out to the lost souls and bring them into the Kingdom of God.

This is something you must take very seriously this year; you must be effective in soul winning. Every month, have your target, and a clear cut plan of how you're going to effectively lead people to Christ. There's no better way to experience the excitement of Christianity and live for the Lord than to be a soul winner. So get busy for the Lord; be passionate about His work. Make soul winning your lifestyle.

You're a missionary here on earth, an ambassador for Christ, commissioned to take the message of salvation to everyone in your world; therefore, this year, more than you've ever done, get yourself occupied with evangelism and soul winning. Help someone else receive salvation; help those around you learn the Word; show them the path of life! Teach them how to live. This is your calling as a Christian.

The Bible didn't say *"God has given to the pastors and evangelists the ministry of reconciliation,"* rather it says He has given to *us*---everyone who's born again---the ministry of reconciliation. It's our call to be effective soul winners. God's highest blessings are for soul winners; *never forget that.* You want to burn and shine this year, as the Lord has said, this is the way. As you win souls, you're promoted in the spirit, and the Spirit of God increases His grace and glory upon your life to do more.

Let nothing or anyone stop you or reduce your passion for the Lord and His work this year. The Lord has given us a job, and the time is short. The Bible says the night comes when no man can work (John 9:4). So let's do the work of the Father while it is day, and the work of the Father is soul winning.

The Grace of God can be seen in what it produces; as much as Grace is a divine working on the inside of a man, it manifests itself on the outside of a man in diverse ways: below are seven outworkings of grace in a man’s life.

1. ACCEPTABILITY.
There always is something about a man/woman with Grace that attracts people to him/her. Grace singles you out; they just don’t know why they are attracted to you. Grace has got nothing to do with one’s status, profession, or gender. You can turn on grace in your life; God gives you more Grace as you put to use the Grace He already made available to you. Grace causes nature to respond to you and there are levels of Grace at which different Christians function. It should be your desire to function at the highest level of Grace possible.

2. THE ADVANTAGE.
Grace brings and gives you the Advantage. As a Christian, you need to ALWAYS be conscious of the Grace of God upon your life, this is what makes it work and you need to recognize that you have got grace working for you. You do not need to struggle for/with anything in your life, if you put the Grace to work, it will deliver them to you, on a platter. Hallelujah!
